I cannot imagine why being practically on our doorstep why we have not visited before. The gardens are beautiful, lots of hidden surprises including waterfalls. The cafe served lovely food with plenty of choice. My son did the Easter egg trail and played on the remote control boats and had a lovely time. I really cannot recommend this place enough.

These are great gardens set in the hills above Taunton. The house is not open but the gardens are well worth going to. There is a formal gardens and an informal woodland walks.

Excellent day out. You can take the dog, feed the ducks and fish. Children can run around and explore. Brilliant cafe in doors and out and you can take your dog in. Lovely amazing walks with lovely views. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A brilliant day out.

Visited in Easter holidays - kids enjoyed the gardens although only had a very small play area. Great Cafe - good food and coffee.

Have visited several times and we are always impressed. So relaxing, peaceful and good walks all around. Apart from the woodland walk, most areas accessible for wheelchairs & scooters, but not all. Still well worth a visit.

We joined the Historic House Association and chose this house for a lovely Mothers Day visit. Glorious sunshine and spring flowers. Well planned woodland paths, winding up and down with many interesting features to find on the way. A waterfall, a witches house, a Chinese seat, 2 ponds, Gothic Alcove, Mausoleum, watermill together with the gardens and formal gardens. The house is open as an art gallery which wasn't impressive, modern art can be great but this wasn't. A shame. A lovely cafe come tea place in a courtyard and shop. The big disappointment was they said no food or drink to be taken round and no picnics. Why, when there were picnic benches and other people picnicing. The picnic area was right by the car park before you have even paid to get in. Such a shame that you can't sit and relax with your picnic. It covers a large area and so you don't want to have to go back to the car for food and drink and then retrace your steps. I would recommend this garden as it is so lovely and children would enjoy finding the little places of interest.

Stunning place to walk around. The afternoon tea is a must. A bit 'steap' but worth it. Lovely chilled out atmosphere.
