Friends have recently moved to Somerset and found this gem. They have joined so we got half price entry! There are so many delights to find along the well-kept trails and the formal gardens are absolutely stunning. We were very lucky with the weather as it was a beautiful sunny day. There's not an awful lot to see in the house, but it was obviously grand in it's day. The gardens are most certainly the highlight. Stunning views across the county.

I love Hestercombe and now you can look in house. The gardens are glorious but simple, it's small enough for kids to explore all of it including all the beautiful follies dotted around the garden. The weather was too dry to see the cascade but the views from the Gothic Alcove and the Temple Arbour (pictured) are worth the hill!

Gardens are beautiful and a nice place to relax. They have a bar to order drinks and a small playground. I recommend going at night as they have all of the lights on and are pretty.

Visited in October 25. The formal gardens are beautiful and the estate grounds around are magical with lots of garden houses to sit and enjoy the stunning views. The house is full of history and there is a great second hand book shop and cafe. We had lunch, the food was delicious and the coffee the best I've come across.
Really lovely day.

Visited several times, each time we go we see more than before. Great time to visit as it's "pay what you can, in Jan" for an extrance fee. Drinks were a little expensive in the cafe but over lovely place. Highly recommended.
