Apart from the above it's excellent
The restaurant was expensive for the quality of meal.
Breakfast charges - on line £11.50, in advance at the hotel 14.95, on the day 18.95. These price differentials are ridiculous. I had my card ready to pay 11.50 at the desk and was told it was an on line offer - the email offer did not state it was an on line only price. They did honour it but it took 2 staff members to sort it and I had to show the email as proof at the desk, embarrassing and not what we want on short break away.
Only booked a week before our stay and was inundated with daily emails about various extras . I felt quite dissatisfied with my booking , feeling my stay was going to be very basic and I would be missing out.

Lovely building.
Staff polite pleasant and helpful. The bed in room 50 was rock hard. Couldn't sleep.
Pillows flat also.
And very noisy around the room. Outside doors slamming.

Average
Beautiful beams inside parts of the hotel. Restaurant service was good.
The spa faced a housing estate and a car park. People coming and going could see people enjoying the spa. The hotel needs refurbishing in places.

A dream escape
Loved all the different options for dining, coffee snacks etc
And really enjoyed the beautiful grounds and walks on the doorstep.
Spa was amazing! It would be useful to have a hook or two in the bathroom for hanging up towels, and possibly a shower caddy in the bath/shower for body wash/shampoo etc

A number of food locations to eat in just one restaurant like a normal hotel.
When you pull up the outside looks lovely and gives you that wow this is nice.
Parking was easy Spa was more like a leisure centre. changing rooms were old and out dated.
The out side pool had slime on the walls under water by seating the area.
Not sure who would want to sit on the loungers that are placed facing the car park.
Room and bathroom seems out dated and halls ways need updating.

Availability and existing facilities
Some of the staff won't helpful and provide no real help with luggage, considering the hotel has many levels to get to your room.
