There is a place hotter than the sun and it’s a room at this hotel, shame as it’s pretty much spot on apart from the lack of air conditioning.

Nice room comfortable beds some staff very helpful, Lauren receptionist went above and beyond. The barman (with tattos)very helpful. One thing we had to walk thru a wedding bar to get to our bedrooms. Everyone looked awkward!
Food was tasty as was the breakfast.

We came for a day retreat to enjoy the spa. We really enjoyed the place, the service was so lovely. The facilities are very clean, and overall we had a ball at the saunas and the pool which weren't too crowded. We had two treatments that left us feeling very luxurious. It was well worth the price and would love to come back!

We recently stayed in the Dunkenhalgh hotel for 2 nights . The last time I had been here was for my own wedding 12 years ago so I was looking forward to the stay with some fond memories .
The building is a beautiful period hotel, however it seems like it has been run down and looking quite tired. We stayed in the exec room which is very large and has a bath and shower . The shower tray didn’t drain properly (we did inform reception but they didn’t do anything ) - quite annoying as by the end of the shower your feet were immersed in water and the next person had to wait for their shower for 5/10mins. I found the staff at reception not very friendly or helpful , when I turned up my wife had already checked in and gone to the room- it was quite a distance from reception but when I asked for some help they just said “go that way…!” Straight through a wedding party that was taking place .
The swimming pool itself is very nice but the changing rooms and toilets inside are looking dated . Breakfast was so busy and seemed to be understaffed - the selection was quite basic but adequate . Even when we asked for extra towels we had to call reception 3 times and wait ages.
The outside areas are very nice and it’s a good location for the m65 motorway.
I appreciate that it has been a tough 18 months for hotels and this is probably the result of lack of funds possibly to do all the updates and refreshes.
Overall I was a little let down and probably wouldn’t stay again.

Would highly recommend. We visited today for a spa package and were impressed at the facilities and the service. The staff were amazing, warm and welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely return again soon!

Beautiful historic building. It looks a little tired inside but refurbishments are fixing those issues. The pool and spa are definitely worth a go. They are currently waiving the £10/day parking fee if you are a guest. (Not sure I understand why a guest would be charged anyway.....). Close to the M65.
