Booked spa night through lastminute.com - we were upgraded, the spa was nice (nothing special but thermal unit good), 25 minute couples massage was excellent (wish it could have been longer), changing facilities very clean but the best part was the food - £22 for the most delicious 3 course meal! Hotel rooms are dated but beds very comfy which is all that matters for us!

Good location and reasonable price. Breakfast was very good. Room was large but overall hotel is getting a little tired. Bathroom door would not shut properly, window would not open and toilet flush often would not work.

Staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly, food was excellent and the breakfast was good too. Reception staff were friendly I asked for an extra quilt which was provided but didn't fit the bed properly. Now the bad points no hand wash in the ladies toilets had to wait over 10 mins! My husband thought I'd disappeared down the toilet. Room 307 is dated holes in the chair and sofa and the sheets had small holes in them. The mattress was 2 single ones pushed together the left mattress had a dip in it and the springs could be felt! The base sounded like it was going to collapse when you moved on it. The right side was higher than the left and a firmer mattress but still could be changed. They should put a foam mattress over both to make it comfortable. Bad nights sleep!! The window didn't not fully close either. The bathroom tile was gaping open where they gain access to the sink. All in all I would go again and try another room to see if it was better. The food won us over to be honest that's why it earned 3 stars.

Our Secret Escape booking amendment was not registered at the Hotel so we had no booking on arrival. We were upgraded to a better room for the error. Spa is good. Pool is warm. Plenty of sun loungers to relax on. Evening meal was good in quality but small in portion size. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Ignore sat nav when you exit the motorway and follow the signs for hotel & spa.
