Booked via booking.com. Over night stay with breakfast and use of pool. Checked in to this hotel with ease. Delighted to pay £50 less than what Booking.com quoted.

Hotel is old and tired in some places. This is to be expected with age and loss of bookings through 2020/2021. You can’t maintain a hotel if people can’t stay.

Beautiful grounds, ample parking and easy access from the motorway. It feels very grand.

The room we had was massive. Executive suite, two good sized beds. Wasn’t sure if King or double. Beds comfy, even the sofa bed was a good size.

My boys enjoyed running up and down in the room. Great size shower and bath. Clean, tidy and free tea, coffee and biscuits. TV massive in the room. Plenty of plug sockets and USB ports. Room was tired in some places, probably a leak at some point. Nothing that a lick of paint wouldn’t cover.

We didn’t have dinner, probably should have but we was advised that the menu is the same in restaurant as well as bar area.
Menu was reasonable a good 8/10. Probably could have done with a choice for tween who didn’t want kids menu but adult menu didn’t suffice. He had chicken supreme. Younger kids choice wasn’t too bad.

Staff polite, friendly and informative. Even let me order food at 8:30pm for my husband to be brought out at 9pm. My husband arrived at 9pm after closing our business and a 40 min drive.

The pool was used twice, warm, clean and the family change was airy and disability friendly.

Great choice for breakfast, buffet style.
Absolutely cannot fault our stay at all, thank you.

We stayed at the Dunkenhalgh to celebrate my wife's birthday.
The approach to the hotel is pleasing, the appearance of the stone building in the grounds is impressive. When you get inside and into the guest wings it is less impressive and at times confusing. The journey from reception to the executive wing is unclear and confusing because you pass through rooms that look like there shouldn't be a route through them. An outdoor covered corridor is unattractive and uninviting. Once we got to our adapted room though it was lovely. It has all the facilities for a disabled guest and was spacious and comfortable. There is a small lift to the first floor rooms.
Meals were very nice and staff were very helpful.
We booked through a Red Letter Days voucher, which added a little complication but nothing insurmountable.

We stayed at the dunkenhalgh 3 nights. The beds where very comfortable and rooms very clean and tidy, just a bit disappointed about paying so much and no robes in the wardrobe. On our last day we decided to have afternoon tea, presented beautifully, but cheap products used and bought in charged at premium prices. Dined in the cameo restaurant, and although the breakfast was amazing I can not say the same for our evening meal, again things bought in but charged at home made prices, also the menu seemed a bit confused not to sure on wether it was lunch or dinner. In all our stay was great we will definitely be going back and dinning the cameo resaurant again as everybody can have an off day. The staff are amazing shout out to Emily on reception, Aziz in the cameo restaurant, flynn the events organiser and Sam, Anne, jenna g, Andrea, and the young lady that did my French tip pedicure in the spa, you all made us feel so welcome and you all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable thankyou.

Here for a while and the first thing that's comes over is the friendliness of staff. They do well in an environment that's busy and diverse.
Good reception staff and super fitness centre staff but the bar staff excel. My bar attendee was Elizabeth who goes the extra mile to help. Lovely pleasant woman who looked after us very well.

An old hotel in which some areas need badly refurbished but made up for through the excellent service.

Arrived yesterday on arrival looked lovely . Check in was quick . Room big and clean but view of the roof ! Never mind off we went to the pool and jacuzzi . Steam room and spa both closed so a little disappointed. Booked meal in the restaurant . Paid extra for rump steak both me an my husband had it . Husbands was nice mine was tough as old boots . Waitress informed me that there meat delivery has been hit and miss some nice cuts of meat some not so nice ??
Ordered passion fruit cheesecake off the menu with coconut ice cream to be told the only had vanilla cheesecake and no coconut ice cream again due to suppliers … take it off the menu then !
Sat in bar for a few drinks which was very reasonable prices for a hotel . Got talking to a couple who had paid £116 for dinner B&B ( same board as us ) with a free bottle of Prosecco when we paid £150 ? Makes no sense !

I have just returned from a lovely 2 night spa break with my lovely friends. This hotel was amazing with such lovely staff. They were happy, friendly and they could not have done enough for us. Every single member of staff had a smile on their face and the service in the spa, restaurant, reception, lets just say everywhere was perfect. It was a very special weekend for us and the staff made our weekend extra special. The rooms were impeccable and the beds were extremely comfortable. We ate at the restaurant on both nights and the food was cooked and served to a very high standard. Thank you very much for such a lovely stay 😊

This hotel is absolutely amazing, the rooms were big, the beds were very comfortable indeed, the spa treatment I had was very relaxing, the whole weekend I felt relaxed, couldn't fault this place. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff and other guests were pleasant and kind. I only wish the thermal suit was in operation as I love my steams and sauna. But overall, it was a wonderful place to come too and definitely relax as I did with the ladies I spent the weekend with.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel on a inclusive meals basis.

Stylish room with robes and walk in shower, coffee machine etc.
My husband paid for a celebration package balloons, chocolates, petals on the bed.
All very lovely they even added tea lights ( battery ones ).
All these were extras so ask first as I think a large box of Milk Tray was £10 which does seem expensive.

But to be honest that’s my only complaint. The hotel is very large lots of room, grounds to walk around and a well maintained swimming pool.
The bar area is well stocked and the girl , Amy who served us is an excellent ambassador for the hotel.
I asked her about the history of the building and she gave me a complete story of the building including the fact it had a secret tunnel !
Amy was very helpful and had an extensive knowledge of the wines on offer and various cocktails, she is an asset to the hotel.

The dining room recently refurbished has a very light garden feel to it , very airy and plenty of space between tables.
The menu for the evening meal had usual classics such as fish and chips but also various steaks and chicken dishes.
We had 3 courses and throughly enjoyed it, well. Presented, fresh looking and tasting to be honest much better than we thought.
The young lady taking orders in the restaurant Sara again was very knowledgeable about the menu and I believe was the supervisor she was polite and very helpful, again an asset to the hotel.

Prices for starters ranged from £6 for soup £7 for arancini. Main courses 15.00 for steak and ale pie etc. I would recommend calling the hotel prior to your visit and ask if they will do an all inclusive meal deal, excellent value.

There was a large wedding party in the hotel but it didn’t disturb us and we could not hear anything in our room.

We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend for business or pleasure.
