This was the second time that we had stayed at the Red Hall hotel for a birthday celebration. The food at the reception was excellent.

Our room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower were very good and my partner was impressed by the shelf space for cosmetics etc. There was even space in the shower for shampoo etc. I was happy to find free WiFi.

Throughout our stay all the staff were cheerful very helpful.

Do I have any criticisms? Not really unless I get into serious nit picking. The bottom line is: the hotel is good value for money and we would be happy to stay here again.

Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome.

My husband and I stayed here for a week as the daughter of friends of ours was having her wedding reception here and as we live in Northern Ireland, we thought we'd have a short holiday as I used to live and work in the area. We originally booked over a year ago when the wedding date was announced and about a month prior to our arrival I called the hotel to book three extra nights and confirm the room rate (£70 b/b for a double) that we'd been given.

Check-in was speedy and friendly, the room (20) at the back of the hotel comfortable if a little compact, bed comfortable bathroom fine, decent toiletries and lots of fluffy towels. Had to ask for extra teabags for the hospitality tray several times as twice as much coffee as tea was always left. Breakfast very good, usual buffet juices, cereals, fruit and yogurt and a good full English. I always had either the smoked salmon and scrambled egg or kipper and poached egg.

The meal at the reception was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. The one night we ate in the hotel we dined off the table d'hote and it was very good. Bar prices average. Wifi a bit slow, but reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff all very friendly and efficient.

Plus points are it's easy accessibility from the motorway network and public transport whish is excellent in the area right outside the door. Close to Ramsbottom town centre and can recommend Bellini's Italian restaurant, and Eastern Eye Indian.

Would certainly stay there again if we needed hotel accomodation in the area.

Downsides? Would book a twin next time on the front of the hotel as they are larger, and very little lounge area, but this is mainly due to the hotel catering mainly to the wedding trade and business people overnighting

My mother and I stayed in the Red Hall Hotel. It is a small locally owned hotel. The room was very clean, decent size bathroom, all the facilities worked and were in good order. Bed's were good, firm and plenty of pillows. Great array of teas/coffees in the room. The staff were also good. Check in was swift. We had afternoon tea and also had an evening meal. Both meals were to a good standard, the food was plentiful, freshly cooked and service was excellent. I'd highly recommend it for overnight stays. There is a large car park adjacent to the hotel which is safe and free. Room rate was very reasonable and they matched a rate we had found online which was cheaper.

Had lunch today from a menu for the restaurant. Could have had a larger choice for the 3 courses, but the food was good I had roast pork and my wife had hake in sauce.
Food quality and service both good .Only had 2 courses for £12.95.
So besides not having enough choice for each course, we were very satisfied and will pay another visit, maybe in the evening where I suspect the choices on the menu will be greater.
The staff are all very efficient and friendly, and the restaurant is furnished to a high standard, and very comfortable.
All in all a very enjoyable lunch

Front of house service very prompt, even though there was a wedding in progress. Check in & out conducted professionally & efficiently. Pleasant, friendly staff. Good size rooms with comfortable beds. Could do with more milk with the tea & coffee facilities (A minor observation). A little noisy in the morning, due to other guests passing up and down the corridors.
Close to Ramsbottom & Bury town centres & motorway link to Manchester. Would definitely stay again.

So it was my 21st Birthday and I was having a party at my home town (where I no longer lived) therefore needed to stay in a hotel.

With a choice of not so many in Ramsbottom I decided to go for the one a little bit more out of the way because 1. the price was cheaper than those in Ramsbottom and I was advised by friends to choose Red Hall over the others due to their past experiences.

The hotels central to Ramsbottom were charging £60 a night and the Red Hall was only charging £40 plus £10 for an additional bed to be put in the room.

On the day we were arriving at the hotel it was snowing so we was looking forward to getting all warm and cosy in the hotel room before having to get ready. Upon arrival the hotel seemed very welcoming with a lady at the service desk ready to take us up to our room which was lovely to say we were 30 minutes early.

We were asked if we needed our bags taking up to our room to which we declined. There were rooms at a lower level but a lift for those requiring it.

Entering the room, on first impression was very neat and presentable. There were nice furnishings and the room appeared to be very clean. The room had a theme of greens and creams. The bed was very grandiose and the mattress appeared to be comfortable when trying it out. The cushions were very squashy and were lovely to rest on before I had to get ready. The room was a little cold at first but I think the hotel put the heating on as soon as we arrived which warmed the room up. One thing to maybe mention was the bed they put up for the additional £10. It was kind that they did this however the bed almost snapped when my friend went to lie on it. It was quite funny in all honesty but it was a little flimsy. It was literally a springy vintage camp bed.

When I inspected our bathroom, again very presentable and modern. It was brown furnishing (tiles) and white piece bathroom furniture. The shower was rainforest like was very hot. The bathroom had a huge mirror and great lighting for getting ready and putting makeup on.

We had tea & coffee & hot chocolate facilities in our room however we had only a limited amount of UHT milk. I do personally prefer fresh milk to decided to ask downstairs to see if I could purchase fresh milk and the king gentleman asked me if I needed help and when I asked him for milk he said that is not a problem and brought me a jug filled with fresh milk and told me there was no charge. This was lovely as most hotels would charge for this service.

When leaving for our party I asked if there were a curfew for returning back to the hotel to which they said no there is always someone manning the door to let you in.

After our night out there was a door man waiting for us and opened the door and told us goodnight which I thought was nice. I also didn't feel like I was being judged, I know this might sound strange but when you go to some hotels you do sort of feel judged. I look quite young for age and I was slightly drunk when I arrived back to the hotel and the door man treated the 3 of us dead lovely.

We sadly had to leave without having breakfast the day after so cannot comment about the food. Apparently they do a nice steak though. I would recommend this to anyone travelling to Ramsbottom or Bury and need a night out. It is far better than any of the other hotels (i.e. village hotel and grants arms). I really would recommend it, especially for the price.

VERY CLEAN
VERY GOOD SERVICE
VERY PRESENTABLE
WARM AND WELCOMING
