Nice hotel that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time We liked the quaint little village surrounding the hotel itself (which is part of the hotel/spa), the room we booked was the cottage and it was hidden away so we had more privacy than expected and we had our own terrace garden.

Although we didn't use the spa facilities, the thermal pool looked inviting. The side of the pool is exposed (shutters roll up) so you feel like you're in an outdoor pool. Will definitely use the pool next time.

On arrival to our room, we received complimentary spa-like toiletries (smelled amazing) and chocolates as we were there for our anniversary. One of the reasons we booked here was because they were dog friendly as we wanted to take our dog with us. They provided a dog bed and water bowl which was a nice touch.
Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that the shops and tea room wasn't open when we stayed as we booked on a weekday, but we went there for the accommodation so it wasn't a huge issue.

The weather was lovely which made our stay even better. we played Lingo Bingo on the site. I've never laugh so much, it was great fun. Our daughters met us there and we met some lovely people which now are our friend's.

Excellent place for a weekend away that doesn't break the bank but offers excellent facilities Breakfast was great fabulous choice staff really accommodating. We also booked evening meal on the first night, again great value for money and brilliant choice Only negative was the temperature in our bedroom number 9 although no heating on it was extremely stuffy and hot

A relaxing night away Room was nice and quiet. Comfy bed and pillow meant we had a great night's sleep.
Food at the Drop inn and breakfast the next morning was delicious.
Staff friendly and attentive.
Pool, spa and gym facilities were great. Loved the hydrotherapy pool!
Had a lovely stay
Just a little more attention to cleaning- little bit of black mould in shower, plug in sink needed a wipe down also

Except for the spa and swimming pool this place is no more than a Premier Inn with frills. Breakfast was average. Quality of ingredients substandard including the bread. Tea was awful and also the concentrated orange juice. Spa facilities are amazing but you have to book in advance. Our carpet in the executive suite needed replacing. Main meal was excellent in the evening but only one main for a vegetarian so if you had a two night stay you would have to eat the same main. My husband had the beef and said it was delicious. Not enough staff in the restaurant. Slippers, 2 water bottles and a couple of chocolates in a box were a nice touch. The room should have a mini fridge in. Quality of ingredients made to prepare the breakfast including bread, tea, coffee etc.
Toilet flush could be improved. Paid £17.95 per person for a breakfast for a two night stay, spent approx. £80 on breakfasts and it was substandard for a four star hotel. Needless to say we did not go for the second breakfast morning even though I had booked it and paid for it in advance. Dirty sticky dining tables, not very clean in the restaurant

Not to be missed Lovely place with nice rooms, beautiful Spa included in the bed and breakfast rates. Several good walks in the surrounding countryside around the hotel. Nice bar and restaurant, very relaxed atmosphere.  Shower over bath instead of a walk-in shower, surely a must nowadays.
