Stunning place, grounds outside nice & tidy, huge carpark, welcomed by staff at the main entrance pointing me in the right area I should be in, my reason for my visit today, booked on speed awareness course with Lancashire police in the conference rooms, course wasn't to bad, nice fresh coffee provided in the break, on my way out caught a glimpse of the pool area, looked lovely I'm thinking of coming back & booking a spa afternoon.

Nice building, lovely location, however rooms need updating, bathroom was terrible, toilet tank jumped up every time it was flushed, this was due to poor maintenance, at some time somebody had obviously spent a lot of time trying to unsuccessfully make an incompatible flush lever fit the tank, probably costing the hotel a small fortune in time!! advise for the maintenance team- just get the right part!!the overflow on the bath was loos, and had a gaping hole allowing water to escape and come through the ceiling in the corridor below, jacuzzi bath did not work (room 72) silicone was badly mouldy and also badly applied, wooden panel on Jacuzzi was pealing off leaving sharp splintery wood exposed where you would enter the bath.
restaurant - we had to queue for 20 to 25 mins because the kitchen could not keep up with the demand for bacon eggs beans etc etc, some staff working well, other walking around like zombies not knowing what to do, or noticing things like juice, croissant, eggs bacon etc had, or about to run out on the self service counter , probably why the kitchen was unable to supply on demand.
Generally needs a new maintenance team, staff training, and some money putting back into the rooms, currently the bathroom in our rooms looks like something you would find in an out of date, struggling run down B+B!
Pics,
1)Sign for Jacuzzi use
2)Overflow loos with hole behind
3)Dated and worn out non working Jacuzzi
4&5) Mouldy loos and poorly applied silicone
6)Flush handle higher than tank rim, preventing lid fitting
7&8)Tank lid resting on flush handle bar
9)panel water damaged, edges splintering
10)Lower corridor ceiling with water leaking due to Jacuzzi overflow hole
