I absolutely love staying at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel — it’s my go-to place whenever I visit family and friends up north, which I do about 3-4 times a year. In fact, I’d rather stay here than with anyone else! The history and beauty of the hotel are undeniable, but it’s the exceptional staff that truly make it stand out.

From Sarah in reservations, who makes the booking process effortless and even goes out of her way to say hello and make you feel like part of the family, to the receptionists who greet you with genuine smiles, the hospitality is second to none. Special mention to Niel, the concierge, who embodies the spirit of service. No request is ever too big or too small for him, and his priority is always ensuring that every guest is happy.

But perhaps the most remarkable part of my stays are Edwena and Azis, the F&B managers. They consistently go above and beyond to make sure that whether it’s breakfast, dinner, or any event, everything runs smoothly and with such personal care. Their dedication is clear, and no matter the occasion, you can always count on them to ensure it’s a success.

I’m truly grateful to all the team for making every visit feel so special. There’s no place I’d rather stay when I’m up north. Thank you for making my time at the Dunkenhalgh memorable, every single time!

Looking forward to my next stay booked in a couple of weeks-
I will be sure to take photos this time!

Had a great stay, the hotel team were great and very helpful. Even when our room wasn’t cleaned due to the door sign falling off, they were happy to go the extra mile. Was worried room would be too hot with the very hot weather, but was given a larger room and fan. This worked a treat.

Great place overall but always room for improvements, some of the decor in the less seen areas are a bit tired,I stayed for three nights and if I’m being honest it would’ve been great if I didn’t get charged for using the pool, any decent hotel would have this complimentary especially as I was there for three nights.
Breakfast was great, the beds were very comfortable, parking was ok but when they had an event on some one parked in front of my car and blocked me in, it wouldn’t of bothered me but I had to leave for an appointment which meant I was late once the car next to me left I managed to do a 20 point turn and escape…. Very frustrating but not the hotels fault just idiot people.

Overall not bad, room very warm - no air conditioning, not our first time there but the place is looking very tired these days.

Asked for a fan but waited over an hour and had to phone 4 times. No phone in the room either which was very strange. Apart from that it was OK.

We had difficulty finding the hotel. The Satnav took us around in circles. The staff were very friendly. The room was OK but the bathroom was intended for a disabled person which we didn't really like.

Have stayed here a few times & most recently in an Executive room.

The staff were very friendly throughout the hotel & Spa. We ate dinner in the bar area & the food was lovely - the service was good too.

The room was very spacious & comfy. There’s no aircon but slept with window open & that was fine.

Only downside was breakfast. Service wasn’t particularly good compared to other elements of hotel. By the time our order of poached eggs arrived (placed on sitting down at table), we had finished breakfast- nearly 30 mins later. ..

I would stay again! Just probably will bring own breakfast.

Nice and clean , comfortable bed. Breakfast best I have ever had and the gentleman in charge at Breakfast is very good at his job , got a large table ready for us and was absolutely brilliant with one of our party with a nut allergy, very different to the lady at our evening meal who was rude beyond belief. There was a mix up in meals and she shouted at us ' stop eating and listen to me' then continued to be very rude. She left our party feeling quite anxious and upset like children at school. She did not return to the room after thankfully.

We stayed on Saturday 5th July as a group of friends and family, we were holding a party locally for my husbands birthday and the hotel could not have been better. All our guests commented on how lovely the hotel was, the rooms were great, the breakfast excellent and the staff were fantastic. The 'Dunk' is very special to us having held our wedding reception there in 1994 and many family gatherings since. Thank you all we had a fabulous stay.
