I visited the spa section of the hotel for an Ishga full body massage. The spa receptionist was friendly and welcoming and the waiting area is large and airy. After having been led through a rabbit warren to get to the massage area (I would not like to attempt to find my way drunk or in the dark!), the room was spacious, clean, and provided a very relaxing environment. The masseuse (Alysha) was very respectful and attentive. She gave me an excellent massage, especially my arms and legs which could not have been better.

This was my second full body massage here and both times I have left feeling much more relaxed and stress free than when I arrived. Would definitely recommend.

The room was spacious, nicely decorated with a modern bathroom. If a lift is important to you then you need to check you are in the newer part of the hotel where there is the only lift.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I have a gluten free diet which was accommodated very well.

A very pleasant experience made even more special by the reception staff especially Emily who booked the room and offered the leisure facilities. Met on the day by Amy (-Louise...I think) who was really helpful and friendly. All round well worth the stay. Thank you guys x

Stayed on 2 night spa break. Room was nice and big a good firm mattress and comfy pillows and a good choice of drinks including cold drinks and water in the fridge because we were staying 2 nights. Had lunch on day 1 food really nice I had steak baguette steak was nice and tender, husband had steak pie which was homemade and husband really tasty. Enjoyed our evening meals which were nicely presented and delicious. It was my husbands birthday so they had decorated our table which was a nice touch. Plenty of choice atcthe breakfast buffet eggs were scrambled but could request eggs as you wanted if you didn't want scrambled. We had 2 spa treatments each both chose a facial and Marine back treatment. Mine was nice and relaxing and definitely relaxed my tense muscles, my husbands therapist however talked throughout his treatment and he didn't like to say he wanted to be quiet or that he would prefer his massage to be firmer. Overall it was a really lovely enjoyable weekend. All the Dunkenhalgh team were great and we will definitely be returning again soon.

Nice hotel and lovely breakfast. Staff were also nice and grounds are beautiful. Drinks are quite pricey at nearly £10 for a glass of wine. Not sure who thinks a double bed that is two single beds put together is comfortable though! I certainly don’t

I had an accessible room in the older part of the building. It was excellent with everything I needed. The only problem was that I couldn't turn off the bedside lights when I was in bed due to the huge bedhead.
Everything else was fine.
How ever, Nick Parry ,when replying to complaints in reviews, does a lot of apologising but not much action. One lady mentioned the lack of any seating in reception, he said this would be rectified but there is not even a chair in the reception area last weekend.
The staff were excellent.

Myself and my mum have just come home from an amazing weekend here that I booked as her Mother’s Day gift. The hotel is beautiful. Very clean, room was spacious and the amenities were fantastic. The food here was very good. The bar was good and the spa was perfect for the relaxing weekend we was looking for. The staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be looking forward to returning at some point and will recommend to everyone.
