A little tired in places but good value for money when bought as part of a dinner B&B package. The evening meal was pleasant and filling, breakfast was a little underwhelming but for the price would definitely recommend a stay here if you are in the area. Rooms comfortable albeit simple and empty of any extras (may be due to covid)
Overall a cheap, cheerful and comfortable Hotel

I booked our 4 night break through Groupon on a 4 night Dinner Bed & Breakfast offer & it was good value for the money, however I would not recommend if you are wheelchair dependent as my wife is, if I had not been with my wife she would not have managed to get through the doors to her room even though we were on the ground floor ( Room 515 ) pull & push doors. However I must say that our room was wonderful & the view out was beautiful. We must say a special thankyou to Sara restaurant supervisor on our first 2 nights absolutely FANTASTIC & her team were just as good. The menu on our first 2 nights was though a little limited in choice it was first class in quality, presentation, flavours & the service was excellent . Our next 2 nights dinner had a change of menu & more fast food chain selection than HOTEL restaurant standard however the staff members serving did a great job with a limited menu. Only complaint was my wife did say her gammon was served cold, the floor manager did offer to cancel the charge for our sweet. It is said your day starts at breakfast while take my word for it that is not the case at The Mercure Blackburn. I had 23 years of buffet type breakfast in Her Majesty's Armed Forces British Army & it did not get any better at The Mercure. I would not recommend paying for breakfast if a local Café is close by use it. One appreciates that we are blaming truck drivers for the supply chain but to be 4 nights without Draught Stella Artois our stay Monday To Friday is a little bit of blame shaming. The best part of our stay was made by the efforts 3 suburb members of staff. SARA Restaurant. Ben Bar, Employee Of The Month well worth the award just Superb & Alison Housekeeping well done & thankyou to everyone, however we will not be back. Ken & Marie Room 515

Spacious comfortable room. Very friendly staff: Krishna, Sara, Christopher and Olivia in the restaurant were particularly attentive; the ladies at reception were very helpful and charming; and Callum at the bar was also very friendly. Dinner was excellent both nights, in fact better than we expected. I am not giving the best rating for only one reason: there was a party going on with very loud music late into our second night, in one of the reception rooms near us, which is not exactly conducive to a restful sleep. Other than that we had a lovely weekend and felt really welcome and looked after!

Just fantastic ,rooms are clean and very comfortable , every staff member so polite and helpful , the food was amazing , can't wait to return , a real find . We usually go to Ribby Hall sadly it was fully booked , but I'm sorry Ribby although you're fab Dunkenhalgh , is much better by far .The thermal suite was down , but did not spoil our weekend in the slightest , 5 stars and above .

First room offered was very noisy with multiple kitchen fans creating a constant droning noise in the main house, The door was hanging off the T.V. unit and even when the quarterlight window was closed could still put my fingers through the seal. So we were moved to a room in the courtyard which smelt very damp, In the morning you could hear people in the GYM below and noise from the motorway because even with the radiator turned off the room was far to hot and had to keep windows open and sometimes the door to maintain a comfortable temperature. There was was significant water damage on the bath panel the bath taps were twisted out of alignment and you had to wait 5 minutes with the hot water running to get hot water if you got it at all.
We asked for a table in the restaurant but were told sorry they were full even though all evening there was at least a third of the restaurant completely empty which we could see from our room.
Overall very disappointed with our "Luxury Hotel Getaway" there was certainly nothing luxury about it.

Firstly :- great value for £83 B&B 👍bedroom big modern and comfortable . Nice modern bar and dining room easy check in and parking . Building needs modernisation ( in progress i think ) . Restaurant menu very limited and not befitting of a hotel of it's size and stature , but what we had was acceptable but nothing special . Although good service from the staff especially Kyle who was young, enthusiastic and polite . Breakfast was standard fayre too . Overall satisfied especially for the price , would love a re-visit if and when the hotel's had a full refurbishment . Didn't get chance to use the spa facilities.

The building is run down and needs a lick of paint and fixing in some places.
The staff are not very friendly and barely smiled at me during my stay, both front of house and at the Leisure centre which was a shame because this is the second time I’ve booked to stay in the last 2 months and plan to stay in the future but not for the service, but for the nice rooms and location….Nor was I asked how my stay was at checkout. It just feels as though the staff do not really care about hotel guests. Not a huge deal but good and friendly customer service checking in and out at the very least goes a long way!
At the moment, the Sauna and Steam facilities are not available which is a shame.
Room service didn’t leave any robes and slippers in my room this time either.

On the plus side, the rooms and facilities within the rooms are lovely! Very modern, stylish and comfy! The rooms are good value for money and are clean!
Check out is later than some other hotels which is nice too. Also, the pool and Jacuzzi were nice and warm!
