This is a standard Holiday Inn; however, the staff were incredibly helpful. I stayed for 2 nights and everyone I came into contact with was genuinely pleasant, courteous and helpful. I say genuinely because I went to London afterwards, and stayed at a hotel where the standard, false facade was all too prevalent.

The breakfasts are also worthy of note. The kippers with poached eggs was a special order, but at no extra charge, and on both mornings were high quality and cooked to perfection.

i've stayed here a couple of times for a week at a time. the rooms are clean and functional, service from all staff is very professional. the best thing is the quality of the breakfasts, vast choice, good quality and excellent service.evening meals seem of a much better standard at the weekend than on weekdays.

Stayed one night (18/12) on business. Reception staff welcoming and professional. The rooms are perfectly adequate and the price is about right.
The hotel has a mini gym, cross trainer, cycle and running machine (not working when I was there) so if you are a gym goer then a good option. There is only one piece of each equipment so if busy might mot be great
Food was ok but nothing to set the world on fire and the staff in the restaurant and bar were polite and efficient

I stayed here on business recently. Its a tiny bit tricky to locate the entrance and is easy to shoot past but not too hard to rectify if you do go past it. A very warm welcome - in fact good service all round. My room was roomy, although unbelievably hot. I stayed during January and there was nothing I could do to moderate the temperature in the room. The windows don't open very far and the air con was less than efficient! It really was hot and the bed was a little bumpy/ springy so I had a few disturbed nights sleep.

My room and bathroom was clean and well serviced. The location is great and very central, although do be careful walking towards the centre from the hotel.... its a really tricky junction to cross just near the bus station so buses take a wide berth to turn into the bus station - it looks like they are going straight ahead then come at you! Just be careful, particularly if you have children with you!

Breakfast was nice and varied. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

The gym is very small and the step machine and treadmill kept breaking during my stay- I reported it so hopefully this has been rectified. Its a very small gym so you probably need to pick your times.

Stayed at this Holiday Inn whilst visiting Preston for a football match. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff very helpful. From the moment we opened our room door the warmth hit us which after being outside in the cold was welcomed. The beds were extremely comfortable which I was delighted with as I usually find it hard to sleep when not at home. The evening meal from the bar/grill restaurant was a little on the expensive side and you didn't get a lot but what you did get was very appetizing. Breakfast which was included in the price of the room was plentiful and the full English was cooked to order which was a refreshing change from having it sat around in trays where you help yourself as usually when it is self service it is half cold but the way they do it here it is piping hot.
The next time we visit Preston I will definitely book to stay here again.

Good location, friendly staff, clean environment, great breakfast.
Very good value for money. Only stayed one night but had no complaints at all. Only advice would be to get there early if you want to park in the on site car park.

Spent 3 nights here at the end of September on business. Stayed in twin room (alone) on top floor of the annex building that is adjacent to the main hotel building.

Room was clean but very dated. Paint peeling off in bathroom above the wash basin. Modern TV but was a small room considering it was a twin.

Cooked breakfast was average at best. Buffet style. Bacon and sausages undercooked which really ruins it for me.

Dinner experience much better. £16 for cheeseburger and chips is a little excessive though. Lovely burger however but chips too chunky for my liking. White chocolate ice cream was wonderful.

Nice experience overall. Just don't expect newly refurbished rooms.

Spent 3 months here from July till October. The hotel is dated and the food is questionable at times but it was the staff that made my stay enjoyable. They went out there way to make sure I had exactly what I needed and it was never any trouble for them. They took time to get to know me and I was generally sad to have left them and the hotel. A massive thank you to Julie and Rhiannon on breakfast, Ashley and Laura on reception and Katie, Monica, Irene, Chris and James!

We have just arrived back from a weekend trip here. The hotel itself is very clean but a bit tired in places. The tub chair in our room had a couple of splits across the back and looked a bit unsightly. The only real criticism of this hotel really is the food situation. What a shambles. The staff were helpful enough but the food itself was something entirely different. The choice for coach parties is not really good enough. They ran out of gravy at the evening meal , breakfast they ran out of eggs and I finished my breakfast before they came out again. Buffet breakfast only work if the food is available in the first place obviously. I didn't like any of the unusual starters for the evening meal i.e. black pudding etc and therefore didn't have any and then had to wait a long time before I could get my main meal as the buffet was not available yet. The dessert was forgotten about as we had to pre order and it was brought to our tables but we had to ask for it after the restaurant was nearly empty. The kitchen need to get a grip and get the timing issues sorted out. The food itself was cooked lovely. I would stay here again and hopefully next time the issues would be sorted out.
