Stayed here for a couple of months on and off, the room are standard for holiday inn, clean and comfy. TV channels need sorting as many just noise. Wifi is good. The lift to get to the rooms needs to be fixed it's been broken for ages, there are 2 lifts but can take a while on busy times. Reception are friendly and professional. Staff at breakfast sometimes struggle on busy times and try different methods to deal with checking us in, showing us our table then getting us a hot drink. Maybe best to stick to one method. One of the bar men is excellent, remembers your name and is never flustered, too good for this place. Some staff mean well but struggle with English. The food is a bit bland, fancy words but the chef clearly has no real passion for food.
Glad I don't have a car as car park is not big enough.
Close to town centre, 15min walk to station.

A standard holiday inn in many ways but screaming for an update, It is clean and tidy and minutes aways from Preston town centre. Everything in the room worked as it should, the only down side in the room was the use of bulk toiletries which I don't really like. On a big plus the reception staff are excellent nothing it to much. Breakfast was good selection and well stocked at all times. One issue that the hotel is aware of is there is only one lift in operation, not a problem for me but for those who need it at busy time you could wait a while.

Could do with an update as rooms look tired. Dinner in the restaurant - a limited menu. New staff, who really needs training up before she is allowed to deal with the customers. Didn't know what she was doing and it seemed like she couldn't be bothered with us. She shouted a cross the dinning room to ask what we wanted for sweet.! When she arrived at the table, I asked what sorbets they had to be told she don't know, same answer with the ice cream. I had to ask her to go and find out what flavours were available.
Then when they arrived said the ice cream was the sorbet.
All the other staff in the restaurant were friendly and very pleasant as were the staff at reception desk.

Spending most of my time bouncing between hotels, once you are familiar with the facilities each particular brand contains, gym, restaurant standard, etc for me the only thing that can make one hotel stand out above the others is the staff. The staff in this hotel rate it in my opinion one of the best Holiday Inns to stay. I always like to take time out to pay compliment to hotel when the staff as a whole stand out. I would like to say a special thanks to Rick, Kirsty and Nichole who collectively took the time and effort to make my stay enjoyable by not only their attention to detail in remembering my preferences, but, also making the effort to socialise whenever they were not rushed off their feet. They could not do enough to help.

This particular Holiday Inn is based in the city centre right beside the not aesthetically pleasing bus station. I can only imagine that the city centre restaurants and bars make it difficult to keep the bar and restaurant appealing.

stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, each one individually booked as the trip lasted longer than expected.
Check-in was quick and easy.
Room was spotlessly clean and equipped to the expected standard.
The food in the restaurant was very good, the cuisine was British with an Asian twist.
Breakfast was excellent, although a buffet, it was kept hot and freshly cooked food was continuously being brought out.
The only downside was the lack of parking.

I stayed here for 3 days/2 nights recently as I was conducting some business in one of the meeting rooms here. From the time I arrived, until the time I checked out they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

The reception is on the 1st floor, and the staff were efficient and friendly. My room was on the 6th floor and was clean and comfortable as one would expect. The meeting rooms are on the ground floor and again were well stocked and clean. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience the restaurant as I am on a special diet and so can't eat normal foods but it looked inviting and I was sad to miss out of the experience.

Overall a very pleasant hotel, with wonderful staff. I'd be happy to visit again for pleasure or for business and would recommend this venue for both.

If I had to pick a downside it's that there are only 33 car parking spaces. I was lucky to get one (the last space) as I had a lot of equipment to unload but I'm not sure how I'd have coped if there hadn't been any space there as it would have been impossible for me to cart my equipment to and fro from the public car park.

Lovely clean room. Excellent service from reception. Overnight free parking. Quiet considering the hotel was full. Comfy bed; reasonably priced. Would stay again. Bar area very clean. Only complaint reception on first floor can be slightly confusing once you come in. Oh and the lift didn't work from ground to first.

Stayed here recently for 4 nights for business. The car park is tiny and was full throughout my stay so I had to park in the multi story opposite, which wasn't an issue. The snooker was on at the guild hall so it was nice having breakfast with all the players around! Food was good, staff were helpful! One of the lifts wasn't working, but gave me an excuse to use the stairs for a change! Overall it's ideally located so I would stay again.

This is a difficult review to write because it's not for the lack of trying that makes the hotel experience feel like a 1980s time machine.

Staff: the staff are great and can't do enough to help. The reception staff were great and ordering room service was a pleasant experience. The food service staff even left a note with dinner saying 'hope you have a great stay" etc. Now the cynic in me knows that this is a ploy to get higher tips (read any psychology text book for more) but even though I knew why, it was still a nice touch and deserves a mention.

Room: I was on the sixth floor which is supposedly reserved for IHG card holders and the corridors were all painted in a "business grey". The room itself however was in all honesty way below par for 2017 - it was very small, there was no plug by the bed (which in this day and age is crazy - EVERYONE has their phone in bed and use it for alarms etc), the TV was still analogue and had hardly any channels - for you kids out there analogue TV was pre digital and there was only a few channels that had crappy signal. The room was clean and tidy, but was still in the old 'Corby Trouser Press' era. So incredibly dated. The room was so small there wasn't any space to really put the suitcase even.

Location: centre of town so good location and was close to where I was working

Food: absolutely fine and as you'd expect from a standard hotel like this

Overall: honestly the hotel needs refurbishing because it's simply not up to the expected standards these days. With AirBnB the same nightly cost would allow you to stay somewhere twice as good - and that's the issue. The staff honestly try their best but IHG are doing them a disservice by not allowing them to give their guests the best experience by virtue of the hotel itself. Travelodge and Premier Inn are far more modern, bright and with larger rooms and because of that this hotel fails.
