My room was clean although need maintenance as the handyman wasn't very good at his job. Loose fittings, mastic, discoloured paint and water stains, broken sink plug...
Still, the staff were lovely and the breakfast was fantastic. With a little TLC.
Lastly, the location is horrendous, way out of the city, invisible signs and a PIA to get into, it's made worse as there aren't any signs to the car park, you have to drive under the building and can't see where your going.

Went with a group for a Christmas party, about 15 of us but I stayed overnight. Attempted to check into the room i had booked in October but the check in clerk could not find any reservation for me. Fortunately the person i was sharing with had already checked in and told me our room number, seems strange that the room was booked in my name yet they could not find me whereas 2 hours earlier they could find me when my roommate checked in, it was only when i told them what my room number was that they found me.
CASH only at the bars..... really!!!! In this day and age? This was not because there was a technical problem it was policy, more reminiscent of a cheap b&b on the A6. Prices at the bar were ridiculous £3.95 for a coke, but with no openly displayed price list and cash only ..........
Needless to say we will not be returning. I must say i have stayed at other Mecure hotels but never one as financially questionable as this one.

we badly needed a break mid term, so decided on a hotel that wasn't too far away. We arrived (having overshot, the signage isn't great) I was impressed by the bright reception & the warm welcome I received. Check in was easy & we made our way to our room. I wasn't expecting anything great, but we were delighted, a bright, spacious bathroon, full size wardrobe, the room opened out to a very comfortable space. A huge bed (SO comfy) a desk, decent tv & a fab sofa.
We went for dinner in the bright & modern bistro. We shared an Indian platter of samosas, bagis & Pacoras which was delicious. Hubs had the sweet potato curry, I had fish & chips both were lovely. The house wine is decent & reasonably priced.
We slept like logs & enjoyed a very yummy breakfast. There are juices cereals & pastries to start with & a cooked buffet that you help yourself to. The staff were lovely & cooked some veggie sausages which hubby loved.
We had ordered a table for dinner but someone took it! The staff member went above & beyond to sort us out. She did, & we loved our table. We shared a huge plate of nancos, I had pork & he had veggie burger. Both were excellent.
We ended the evening with a cocktail!
It is a very welcoming place. Every member of staff is terrific. There is a health club & pool. Spa treatments can be bokked. Parking is secure & free. I loved every second of our stay.
2 minor niggles, not over keen on the bath & the walls are thin. Did it out me off? NO. Will we return? Oh yes indeed.

My step-daughter purchased a voucher for my husband and I to have afternoon tea, so we decided to make a night of it!

We had a nice welcome and the afternoon tea was lovely. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable; we slept well. We had an evening meal which was delicious and the breakfast was decent too. Overall we ate very well and were happy with all of our meals.

We also used the swimming pool and had a relaxing swim.

The staff were very nice.

I would stay again.

Not a complaint, but it's worth noting that although this is called Georgian House Hotel, it's really a large coporate hotel, very close to the motorway and busy main road. The view from our window was a roof top with ducting and air con units, again it's not a complaint but I'm trying to give a realistic account of my visit for future travellers.

The only complaint is the ladies changing room in the fitness area next to the swimming pool. it should have been refurbished years ago. Sorry but I wasn't prepared to use those facilities and quickly got dressed and showered in my room.

Stayed over at this hotel as it was a friends 30th, The party room was a good size and was furnished/decorated to a good standard

The hotel is old and in need of an upgrade but the rooms clean and had no complaints

The staff are a mixed bag, Breakfast staff de-motivated and I feel breakfast in other hotels makes or breaks the stay with the personality of the staff. Some of the reception staff again just don’t look happy, maybe management need to give them a moral boost? Bar staff at the function friendly and a lot more personality.

Overall a good stay for what we paid, with an update or even just the management making the staff happier to work this could be a great hotel!

Since arriving on a bank holiday weekend 2 night stay the staff were faultless and very helpful. My opinion of the hotel was surprisingly clean i was expecting something to fail, but i was very happy with the facilities and especially the breakfast! the staff was so kind 1 polite young lady offered to play with baby whilst we had breakfast so we can eat in peace. The car park was very busy on the weekend we arrived but soon cleared up the following day. So to summarise i would happily stay here again

On this occasion it would be rude of me not to write a compliment.
Courteous staff, clean room, super breakfast with a great choice,
A n utter steal at £55 B&B to lay one's head down for the night.
Well done to all concerned.

I would be very happy to stay here again. The staff were very helpful and the food was excellent.
There is also ample parking across from the hotel in the bus terminal, which if you talk to the hotel staff first costs £4 a day. However, there is very little parking outside the hotel, which means you have to pay for the car park first and then check in. The rooms are very clean and of an excellent standard for the price of the room. The breakfast was also excellent.

I can say its average. I booked a room for One night. Standard room or so I thought. Tired and a little weary I made my way to the fifth floor. Opened the door. Two single beds. So I went back down to reception. Could I have a double bed please. What did you book ? A double room I state well it's a standard and they are allocated on arrival ok? And anyway we are fully booked. Rooms are stuffy the view in the distance over the bus station is great. Good points. It's near the bus station and a short walk to the train station. The beer is cold and the chicken caesar salad was exceptional. I would give the scrambled egg at breakfast a miss too distinctly watery and grainy. Not what I would expect of a holiday inn at all

Had a double room with everything in it was very clean and comfortable. As a 1 night stop was perfectly adequate, wouldn't stay any longer as nothing really there The service in the restaurant for both evening meal and breakfast was very good food in evening nothing special, breakfast a lot more choice
