The hotel itself is nice enough and in easy reach of the town centre to grab something to eat on the evening.

The issue I had was with car parking. There is only very limited parking on site. The first night I managed to park on the road outside and fortunately no parking ticket arrived. Second night no such luck. I had no money for parking and the machine didn't accept cards, which was hardly surprising given that the car park looked like a replica from the Get Carter movie! That's probably wasted unless you're from the North East. So to cut a long story short, I ended up driving round Preston to get some money and change. When I checked out I mentioned this and apparently it is explained on the website, which is fine unless you book using a third party. Lesson learnt.

Final minor point as I love to complain, breakfast was nice, but no marmite. Why do some Holiday Inns have it and some don't?

Booked on last minute as we had missed the last train home, would recommend this hotel as its close to all pubs, it's clean and the staff are really nice. If I was going on a night out again I'd either double check the train times or book in advance

Very central location for this Conference Day. However, agree with other reviewers that parking is a real problem. I was able to get the last space in the hotel's car park as I have a Disabled Blue Badge and a disabled parking spot was available.
The lunch wasn't the usual sandwiches, but was a nice variety of mini jacket potatoes, skewered chicken and vegetables, wraps and a choice of desserts. Also, there was plenty to go round.
Coffee/tea at break time was accompanied my Danish pastries and biscuits, so no-one went hungry!.
The conference room itself was clean and well-lit although it became a little warm until someone managed to adjust the air-conditioning! An altogether good experience.

We had one night at the holiday inn Preston. A nice hotel, the bar looked really nice and the staff were pleasant. Reception on the ball. Parking was a bit of a pain. The room with 2 single beds was snug, and the bathroom tiny. Not enough space for 2 people in my opinion. There was a dinner menu 3 courses for £20. It was first class, I had the sea trout which was exceptional. A very tasty 3 course menu. Staff were really nice to top our dining experience. It's close to the motorways.

There is a negative review in relation to our wedding vow renewal however this person did not attend our wedding.
Our 25th wedding vow renewal was the best day of our lives. This was made possible by Rochelle.

The booking had been made two years ago and every step of the way Rochelle has been nothing but helpful, polite, professional and hard working.
There was nothing that Rochelle and her team would not do for us. Everything went perfectly and everybody has said that this was the best wedding they have ever been to.

The food was excellent, the room was beautiful and the staff were on everything that people wanted.

Rochelle is excellent in her job and goes the extra mile, and works extremely long hours. Rochelle never stop being you and keep up the professionalism and excellent hard work.

A fairytale renewal that come so very very true.

We had the best day of our lives and it was all thanks to Rochelle and her team. Rochelle went above and beyond to make our day so very special.
This had been booked for two years and a lot of planning and hard work had gone into this.
Nothing was any trouble for Rochelle. She kept me informed of everything ahead of the event and during the event. She is very professional in every aspect of her job and was never rude to any our our guests or her staff.
She works long hours to accommodate everyone and their needs.
This was a fairytale wedding renewal which went above and beyond our expectations.
All I can say is ask for Rochelle if you need a wedding of any description. You will not be disappointed.
Carry on doing what you do Rochelle. You are amazing at your job x

Arrived at the hotel and check- in quick and easy. We booked it the morning the day we were arriving. Friendly staff. Big free car park.
Went to the pool for a quick swim, hot tub not as hot as I like, pool colder than mercure Haydock hotel, sauna and steam room good.
We got a travel cot in the room for my 13 month old. They made it up and more comfortable with a duvet / cover on top of the base to pad it out. Baby slept 8 hours fine in it.
Hair dryer is good.
Kettle in the room so managed to warm up his baby pouch for his dinner. Also made porridge pots for breakfast. (Saving money as on mat leave- not requiring to buy a hotel breakfast)
Shower terrible- needs more pressure.
Bed comfy.
Pillows could be a little softer. IMO. Husband said it was comfy for him.
Room was so spacious and brilliant for my baby to play and toddle about. Bathroom with tub so could bath baby easily.
Didn’t require bar or restaurant.
All in all it is dated but it was a quick overnight at a good price. Comfy sleep and got a wash. For requiring a convenient stay between Glasgow to London I would come again. But we do mainly go to Mercure Haydock which we prefer.

Went for afternoon tea. We were served a delicious tea for two by a lovely friendly lady (assisted initially by the chef) who waited on our every need. Couldn't fault either the meal or the service. Would definitely recommend.

Good location. We enjoyed our family stay. The staff were all very friendly and the 2 family rooms we occupied were clean and more than adequate for our needs. Dinner menu gave a reasonable choice but there was no steak offered. The courses we ordered were tasty, well presented and enjoyable. However, it appeared that there was insufficient staff to cope with the number of diners at dinner, as the service was slow. Breakfast gave a good and varied choice, was very enjoyable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
