This is a very well organised museum of the county town and local life which is all absorbing and thoroughly entertaining as well as pleasantly educational.

We were in the Hertford area and decided to visit the museum to find out more about the area. This museum has a lot of information for anyone who wants to know about the Hertford area. We enjoyed the information and found it an enjoyable experience. The only thing I would say would be that there should be a few chairs out for elderly people to have a rest. Also some of the technical items weren't working (however the receptionist later told us that they had unplugged it!). I found the museum had a lot to say and was extremely educational and diverse. It was easy to find as everyone we asked knew where it was.

It's a little museum in middle of Hertford town but full of history and things I have never seen anywhere before we enjoyed walking around and see what happened in the past . All the antiques tell story!

Nothing special as it does concentrate on the Hertford area, but what it does show is interesting. Frequent exhibitions on areas of special interest. If you live in Hertford a must see. Building is attractive also.

Well-presented (free) collection of the unexpected and of objects reflecting Hertford's history. Especially strong on artefacts representing local trades, professions and well-known people.

A little gem in the heart of Hertford. I often park up at Sainsbury's (tip: you can park there for up to 3 hours, it's paid parking but provided you spend at least a tenner in Sainsbury's you get your money back - and I always combine a trip to the supermarket with a nosey around town, or vice versa) - anyway, the Museum is on your way in to town and well worth a pop in. They are very child friendly and always have something different going on. Their courtyard is special too particularly on a hot summer day.
