This is a great little Zoo. Ideal for families as there are not only the animals, some of which you can get quite close to, but there is a dinosaur park and a playground.
Plenty of restaurants and food stalls as well.

Thank you all. So much for a lovely end result. Many, many thanks to Simon who master minded the whole thing and to Alex and Brian who were more than helpful.
I am very pleased with it and have glowing reports from my children too.
I know one or two friends who are on the waiting list for Gills to tackle their problems and I can truly encourage them to be patient!!
Thank you too for all your patience!

Another good visit. Seeing old and new faces. The new Indian lions have settled in , but unlike the white lions bless them, these 2 are harder to find.
Only one small criticism is the Zoo is getting a little crowded with the animals . But what has been done is good. We will return next year.

Absolutely amazing place to visit as a couple or a family.
Will definitely be visiting again very soon.
Food is really available and for a park was not to badly priced

Just to warn you that buying your tickets online does not mean you get immediate entry. We had to queue for about 30mins to show our tickets before going in.
It’s also very expensive and today closes at 4:30pm which means we had even less time in the park after queuing for so long

Small but enjoyable local museum. It includes interesting sections on the history of Hertford, well-populated displays of objects collected by eccentric Victorians, and an impressive collection of local puddingstone! There is also a gift shop and toilet facilities. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, and entry is free - but any donations are gratefully received.

Really unique park, the dinosaur area was fantastic (if you are a fan of the Jurassic films you will be in your element!) lots of play areas for children. The zoo was very special, we loved the sun bear talk and managed to see all the big cats. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we all enjoyed visiting the park. Thank you so much

Brilliant day out so clean, members of staff we encountered were very nice and helpful, a lot going on to improve the experience in the zoo, the animals look well cared for, food a little bit expensive but I guess you expect that and £2 per person for the train ride was unexpected but we went on twice so not really a problem 😀 definitely would recommend and would go again even though we live 2 1/2 hours away

Really nice zoo ,went in half term and wasn't to busy, zoo was clean and tidy staff was very friendly and polite .
We saw an array of animals from lions to snakes to the cute family of otters my daughter liked the baby otters the best .
The dinosaur walk was good ,the dinosaurs move and roar (not all but most) which made it that much better as an experience for the kids .
We did the zoo plus stop for lunch etc in a couple of hours, probably need 3-4 hours depending on your family ,but it's nice as it's not too big great for younger children, in my opinion, as younger children can tire easily and get bored .
There are talks in the day at certain times about the animals if you want to listen watch .
And in school holidays there are live shows on stage ie singing and dancing and you can meet rex the dinosaur 🦕.
There a couple of play areas ,one outdoor ,one under a canopy type and another indoor soft play so plenty to keep children happy .
There is food available but we took lunch as with all places can be expensive
Overall really nice day and we would definitely go again 😁
