It's a nice zoo, very easy to move around with baggy or whilchair. The staff are all very kind. If you are tired to walk around there are several small play park around where children can play. Enjoy

Over the years, we've visited this zoo several times - with our children and now our grandchildren. There's so much to see and do, and it improves every time.
Car parking on site is always easy, although it pays to go early to be sure of getting a space (as well as being able to see the animals better before it gets busy). Almost everywhere is on the flat too, so it's ideal for little children, for buggies and for us oldies, with or without wheelchairs.
The animals are closer than you'll find in most other zoos and the explanatory signs are easily understood by the younger generation.
We'd recommend taking a picnic. There are places to sit and eat it - and you'll save a lot of money if it's a family visit because meals in the found outlets here are expensive.

Visited the park in order the partake in the "Meet the Meerkats" experience. The experience itself was fantastic. The meerkats were very friendly and sociable with us, and Jonny, one of the keepers, was brilliantly informative about them and, rather randomly, the dietary quirks of polar bears.
The park was very nice and quiet and the other staff giving talks on the cheetah and the birds were fantastic.
Will definitely back and would certainly recommend!

this is a small but progressive zoo. I have been several times before over a few years and it is really doing some good work now. They are building better areas for the animals and getting involved in conservation etc. There are lots of picnic areas and places to purchase refreshments.
There is a large play area that the kids and parents can run off some energy if there is any spare.
You will be there all day. There is quiet a bit of walking and it is disabled friendly.
They have activity days too which must be booked in advance. We have encountered some of those.
I love when you get the chance to chat to their keepers and really get to know the animals.

My wife did facepainting there for several years, so we visited many times. Apart from the large collection of interesting animals, birds, and reptiles, there are many other activities for children, such as train ride through the woods, slides, playground, climbing frames, etc.
The park specialise in breeding endangered animal species, such as lemurs, snow leopards, and others. They have an excellent collection of big cats, as well as wolves, penguins, tigers, lions, cheetahs, camels, and many others.
Certainly worth a whole day or more!

We visited on Friday 13th November (our 40th wedding anniversary) the weather had just turned very cold so the park wasn't very busy which was great for us as we wanted to take pictures of the animals. All the animals were clean and well looked after. Their cages and enclosures were spotless. The staff and keepers were all so helpful and welcoming and all seemed to be having such a good time. I cannot wait to go back. Now I have ready more about the park on the website I am most impressed at what they have achieved.

My family and I (Wife and Kids aged 6 and 3) had a great day out at the park on a cold Sunday in November.
The trip was discounted via 2 for 1 tickets from the local newspaper and Tesco clubcard vouchers (Wife and I paid individually for max discount).
The park is laid out well with decent size enclosures but with a feel that you have not been walking for miles and miles. The viewing points for seeing the animals are good and some are elevated so that you can look down on them too which is great. The talks by the keepers are great and informative. The is also and indoor softplay onsite which is also good to give the kids a break from the cold weather. Car park has plenty of space too.
A great dayout and the kids loved it which is all that counts.
