I love the castle park and gardens beautiful at all times of the year. Many boards around the castle giving you all historical information you'll need. Close public toilets. The castle itself has open days for the public and holds many functions it also has a conservatory which grows an assortment of fruit and vegetables that are then preserved and can be purchased at the local tourist information site opposite. It is set near the centre of the beautiful historical town of Hertford has a play area for children and summer house and has open air days such as rock in the castle held every year. Such a pretty building and background and such lovely helpful people all helped to make the wedding I photographed here a really lovely and special day. The Registrars and team were helpful and professional and there were plenty of interesting areas of the castle and grounds to create beautiful wedding photographs. Highly recommended.

Superb location for events and venue hire.<br>The building and grounds are beautiful and well cared for, plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities. Very historical, interesting and centrally located.<br>Great place for weddings, meetings and other events at reasonable prices.<br>There are places to stay and eat nearby and it is right by town centre.<br>The staff are helpful, friendly and professional. Excellent customer service.<br>I would highly recommend this venue.

Absolutely stunning venue! We had our wedding ceremony at Herford Castle mid-week with our closest friends and family. Jackie and the team at the Castle bent over backwards to make our day special and it really was perfect and also very affordable! The views from the Castle are stunnng, the gardens are beautiful and the rooms are so warm and friendly. I'd recommend to anyone to host an occasion here and I certainly will again!

We got married at Hertford Castle a while back and the whole experience was great from start to finish.<br><br>We met with Jackie, the venue co-ordinator who took us on a tour around the castle and the attached grounds. The building itself has a number of wonderful focal points for wedding photography, the grand lion door and spiral staircase being two. The grounds also have archways, a wooden bridge over the River Lee and the gardens which were perfect for our album.<br><br>The organisation in terms of the day itself was fantastic. The staff worked perfectly with our caterers to transform the ceremony seating into a dining room that was everything we wanted it to look like.<br><br>The whole day went seamlessly well and all the staff helped us avoid the myth of the stressful wedding day where something always goes wrong.<br><br>My wife and myself could not recommend Hertford Castle enough.
