Nice little Zoo some of the Animal enclosures were closed due to building works.Make sure you bring your own packed lunch the fast food restaurants are overpriced and the quality of the food is very poor.

We viisted on a hot, busy weekend and what struck me straight away was how clean and tidy public areas were, despite the number of picnics happening. The park was full of families with young children and yet the picnic areas were spotless - no overflowing bins or rubbish left lying around. Full marks to the staff for keeping on top of things. Now for the animals, which is the reason for visiting...... The staff are very knowledgeable and are happy to talk about the animals in their care. Many have worked at the zoo for years and are really proud of the work they do to raise awareness of endangered species, contribute to breeding programmes and reintroduce some animals to their natural habitat. It is also possible to arrange special experiences such as shadowing a keeper, meeting lemurs etc which gives a "behind the scenes" insight into the ethos of the park and how the animals are cared for. The park is family owned and run, which means that there is real invovlement in the running of the park and it shows in the care and attention given to both the animals and the visitors. One previous comment reads that there were too many play areas, yet one has to remember that very small children need to let off energy at frequent intervals! They are then able to stand and watch the wildlife with patience and there are many viewing areas which are set at child height to enable them to do this. Despite not having a young family myself, I was very impressed with the overall experience the park is trying to give young families by encouraging them to learn as well as have fun. Long may this little wildlife park prosper - many of our larger zoos and animal attractions could learn a lot from it!

Took my 7 year old grandson for the day. Plenty to do,lots of big animals and plenty of other things to do. My grandson loved the safari stage shows as did all the other children there....was like a big party with bouncy castles, ball park,paddling pool and lots of eating places....he loved the chips!
Probably not like any regular zoo so much more fun

We went to PWP on Sunday and took part in the Tickle the Tapirs encounter. We had a really good time and learnt a lot. It was really nice to go behind the scenes and see the animals up close. Our 'guide' was really good and answered all our questions. And the tapirs were lovely animals, really docile and very happy to be tickled. The zoo is quite small but it's a nice size as you don't get too tired walking round (so especially good for those with small children that can't walk as far!) There are lots of 'shows' going on so even if you walk round it quite quickly (probably an hour to hour and a half) there are still other things to see. I would definitely recommend an encounter.

Fantastic. Cant recommend highly enough. Not big but means not a lot of walking and also get to see the animals..lion was a meter away. Gift shops are fantastic and not ridiculous. The dinosaur area is amazing
