Seven Sisters Country Park
Seven Sisters Country Park in East Sussex offers stunning views, iconic white cliffs, and scenic trails. Perfect for family days out, hikes, and nature enthusiasts.

We stopped off at the National Trust site as we have membership while in the area. Nothing particularly special, they are just cliffs but at least there was a cafe and the national trust building had a room with videos playing explaining about the erosion of the cliffs and how some houses had fallen into the sea. There are some steps down to the beach which has lots of chalk lumps that you can use to write on rocks with.

The Observatory Science Centre
Explore the Observatory Science Centre in East Sussex, offering interactive exhibits, historic telescope tours, and engaging events for families and curious minds alike.
Jack Gander said
Was interesting for us two adults and was very cool to see the telescopes, however I wouldn’t recommend unless you have children. There did seem to be events going on but we didn’t stay to watch. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any parking available on site unless you’re disabled. The entrance is mainly for Herstmonceux castle, if you’re coming for the observatory, park at the car park adjacent to the entrance on the same road and walk up, it’s an interesting walk and you can see the observatory in all its glory too.

Herstmonceux Castle
Herstmonceux Castle offers beautiful gardens, woodland walks, and historic charm. A must-visit attraction in East Sussex for families, couples, and history lovers.
Elaine Prince said
Unfortunately when we visited, the front and side of the castle had scaffolding and plastic sheeting, so unable to get a view from those angles, but still beautiful from the rear. The gardens were spectacular with many unusual varieties of flowers and shrubs. Some gorgeous ancient trees

We visited 2nd May 2025. Was miss informed the time of the owl display & missed it. Mark the keeper, told us to wait a bit & put on a display with two beautiful owls just for us and 2 five year olds. It was so so kind and absolutely beautiful to watch. The boys loved it. Thank you Mark, such a lovely thing to do. 🥰💙
