This hotel is absolutely amazing, the rooms were big, the beds were very comfortable indeed, the spa treatment I had was very relaxing, the whole weekend I felt relaxed, couldn't fault this place. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff and other guests were pleasant and kind. I only wish the thermal suit was in operation as I love my steams and sauna. But overall, it was a wonderful place to come too and definitely relax as I did with the ladies I spent the weekend with.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel on a inclusive meals basis.

Stylish room with robes and walk in shower, coffee machine etc.
My husband paid for a celebration package balloons, chocolates, petals on the bed.
All very lovely they even added tea lights ( battery ones ).
All these were extras so ask first as I think a large box of Milk Tray was £10 which does seem expensive.

But to be honest that’s my only complaint. The hotel is very large lots of room, grounds to walk around and a well maintained swimming pool.
The bar area is well stocked and the girl , Amy who served us is an excellent ambassador for the hotel.
I asked her about the history of the building and she gave me a complete story of the building including the fact it had a secret tunnel !
Amy was very helpful and had an extensive knowledge of the wines on offer and various cocktails, she is an asset to the hotel.

The dining room recently refurbished has a very light garden feel to it , very airy and plenty of space between tables.
The menu for the evening meal had usual classics such as fish and chips but also various steaks and chicken dishes.
We had 3 courses and throughly enjoyed it, well. Presented, fresh looking and tasting to be honest much better than we thought.
The young lady taking orders in the restaurant Sara again was very knowledgeable about the menu and I believe was the supervisor she was polite and very helpful, again an asset to the hotel.

Prices for starters ranged from £6 for soup £7 for arancini. Main courses 15.00 for steak and ale pie etc. I would recommend calling the hotel prior to your visit and ask if they will do an all inclusive meal deal, excellent value.

There was a large wedding party in the hotel but it didn’t disturb us and we could not hear anything in our room.

We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend for business or pleasure.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa! The staff were friendly, the hotel looks very grand from the outside and is lovely and modern on the inside (we’re trying to find the bathroom mirror for our bathroom at home!) We were especially impressed with the large flat screen TV and variety of channels. There is a pool which is free to use for guests, the steam room/sauna were out of use while we were staying but we still enjoyed having a swim. The restaurant was lovely and the adjacent bar had a great atmosphere. The car park is usually £10 a day we think but was free while we were staying. We felt really relaxed throughout our time here and although we were relatively rural and close to lots of walks, we also found lots of nearby activities to take part in such as axe throwing at Real Axe and curling at The Flower Bowl, so it was a great mixture. We would definitely return here! Thank you for a lovely stay.

My sister and I returned yesterday from a short relaxing break at this delightful hotel. It is in an ideal position to visit historical points of interest and surrounding countryside. Facilities and service are very good as were the staff. Our room was very clean, spacious, had everything we needed including iron and board, dressing gowns and slippers and huge TV. also sitting area. Breakfast was great well cooked and ample choices. Aziz the manager gave all his guests a warm welcome and ensured breakfast was a pleasant and smooth experience. There are more places we wish to visit later in the year and will book this hotel again. Thanks to all the team it was a delightful stay.

We run lots of networking events. It's rare to experience a near-perfect event like the one we had at Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa this week. Everyone at the hotel was on the ball, our niche set-up requirements were perfect when I arrived at the hotel. The venue space was perfect and worked really well. We had more guest than expected but the team saved the day by making lots more food quickly and without fuss. Special shout out to Natalie, Luke, Edwena and Lisa. We will be back next year!

Had a lovely couple of nights at the Dunkenhalgh. Lovely room and staff were very obliging. Easy drive to several great locations…we chose Clitheroe. The pool is great…bright and airy and the water was surprisingly warm on a chilly winters evening. Great dinner and breakfasts too.

We’ve just completed two nights DB+B via the travelzoo deal. Really impressed . Lovely big room, spotless in all aspects. Particularly friendly staff, all of them! Easy parking. Excellent food. Now I’m going to be really picky, cold plates at breakfast, and un- discernibly unwanted background music. Now if those are the only two moans, you may be reassured that in all other aspects, this hotel has exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return. To add, parking free if you register your car upon arrival, and the dinner included three courses. Would recommend to all.

Nice place to stay. I ordered the gnocchi for my main meal and I was given enough to feed two people. Swimming pool nice too. Only reason not giving 5 star as the pillows were like bricks despite very comfy mattress. Also sticky toffee pudding not warm.

I've been staying at the Dunk for some time now.
All the staff are friendly helpful from Danielle on the front desk, Sarah, Elena and Elizabeth at the bar and Krishna, Aziz, Amy and Rebecca in the restaurant.
The gym is excellent with new and well maintained equipment and I can't wait for the refurbished Spa to open later this year.

I have stayed here many times, and it continues to get better every time i visit, staff are the best and the food is good as well!!

Extra effort is always made to make the stay very special, I don't think much can be improved.
