We stayed in this hotel, on business, which is well located in the centre of Preston and has a number of free on-site parking spaces. The bedrooms are not large but they have been updated. Both the room and bathroom were clean. There is only secondary glazing not double glazing and we did suffer from external fan noise which made sleeping difficult.
The staff are pleasant but unfortunately not everything went well. There was confusion about the day of my booking in that they sent me a confirmation for the wrong day. Resulting in a lengthy phone call to sort the matter out but no confirmation followed up for the correct day.
The breakfast was okay but not of great quality.

We stayed for two nights clean rooms good central location. The staff were very attentive and an asset to Holiday Inn as really helpful with both my wife and son needed gluten-free food and they organised it without fuss. No faults just praise!

I stayed here for one night. It is excellently located and right next to the main bus station.

When I arrived Maria was on reception and she checked me in quickly and very efficiently. I thought she was a real credit to the hotel.

My room was really clean and the beds were really comfortable. The rooms were not large and the gap between the desk and beds was small.

I did not eat in the hotel.

Overall, I liked this hotel and would stay again.

A very enjoyable stay in a very good location. Clean and satisfactory for a quick stay to see friends. Easily could be used as more than just a base. Beds were comfortable and the room was tidy. Thank you

A good central location if you are based in Preston with work, although prices can really vary.

Rooms were generally clean, although the bathrooms feel a little dated with the most ridiculous small shower head possible. I've been in Holiday inns all week and there seems to be no consistent standard in each hotel which can be a little frustrating. My room had connecting doors, which i'm not a fan of and I could hear everything in the room next door.

The restaurant and bar were well laid out, but I have to say I don't really understand the pricing structure as they were well above my stays in other IHG hotels that week. The calorie information is certainly off-putting.. particularly when it announces that the average daily recommendation is 2,000 yet a simple chicken dish can have 1300! It actually put me off wanting to eat! The food was ok, but way overpriced for what it was. A generous breakfast offering for an additional £10, I just wished they'd told me it was going to take 15 mins for porridge. Time was short and i sat there waiting for over 10 mins before I was told it was still going to take another 5 mins... i declined the order and grabbed some cereal and left quickly. That was annoying considering I paid extra for the convenience.

I have to say that I was made rather uncomfortable at check out when I was asked straight out whether I would rate the hotel on a scale of 10, being made clear that anything below a 7 was not good. I have never experienced this at an IHG hotel and it made feel very uncomfortable. I'm not a keyboard warrior, if I have an issue I will happily raise it... but i don't think its appropriate to put your customers on the spot as they are leaving.

Due to location and the fact they are the most decent chain hotel in the area I would stay again, but it needs a little love in its spruce up.

The value we've had from our membership is unbelievable! We visit at least twice a month & take our dog who is made welcome, the restaurant quality is great with kids options too. Easter trails & other events are included free with membership so there is always something new to do.. Staff are great & to get married there must be axing as it is so beautiful. For real value membership is a must

The day I visited it was deserted, and I walked round for over an hour before meeting anyone. The gardens are in a valley with steep sides, and make for a decent walk. There is a shop, a good cafe/restaurant where I had a lovely piece of victorian sandwich cake. A good day out.

Visited the "Stables Kitchen" first to have some lunch, had a quiche with salad which seemed ok (£6.55) but strangely it was served with crisps instead of potatoes (i don't like crisps much but i guess some do). I also ordered a "home made lemon meringue pie" (£4.75) as it's one of my fave deserts BUT what was served simply seemed like a joke - it was a small circular thing about 3" in diameter NOTHING like what I had expected - the curd was runny and acidic and the meringue was runny as well - obviously frozen rather than homemade.

OK I did not primarily visit for the food, it's the gardens which I have visited many times living locally, and I'm lucky to have this "on my doorstep" - I primarily visit for the "informal" part of the gardens which has nice woodland tracks based around a deep wooded valley with a string of lakes at the base. There are nice diversions out of the main wooded valley such as a "folly" ovelooking the vale of Taunton and a separate "bluebell wood". There are probably a good 3 miles of wooded tracks if you followed them all so I generally spend a couple of hours walking round.

Finally grabbed a cup of cofee before leaving and can vouch that they do a good coffee (had a large americano) - they have a proper espresso machine and grind the coffee themselves - I'm very fussy about my coffee and it seemed good.

I will also just mention something to watch out for when paying for entry - they have a "dual price" system with the option to pay a higher price including a 10% donation BUT unless you ask for the standard admission price they will TAKE the 10% "donation" regardless - in my book a "donation" should be offered rather than taken by default.
