Nice clean hotel. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast lovely. Staff very polite and friendly. Hotel in perfect place for central Preston. Hotel undergoing refurbishment, but apart from a bit of scaffolding we wouldn't have known.

Stayed here to attend a course last week. While looking to book a hotel I always check first to see that there’s parking which evidently it did. On arrival the car park was completely full and I had to park on a road with double yellows just to check in. There I was advised there was an overflow car park I could use. Brilliant I thought, but the catch is you got to be out by 7am when I didn’t have to leave until 9am. Saying that the staff food and everything else at the hotel was fine. Getting up a lot earlier than I really needed to though wasn’t the best.

Right on the doorstop of the bus station, friendly staff, clean facilities, central location. Poor parking facilities, first come first served basis, so if you're not booking in early you will struggle for a space

This was our second visit in two months to this great city centre hotel. We had a few problems with our room on our first visit but it was all dealt with promptly by Kay. This time we had a fully refurbished room on the 5th floor overlooking the bus station. The rooms are of good size and the bathroom fittings of good quality. We only had issue with the wardrobe rail, which is too short if you are staying for 4 nights as we did. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant area which has a nice atmosphere. Dinner here is very good, limited selection, but all cooked to order. Breakfast is very good too, with plenty to chose from. The staff at the bar and restaurant are excellent and a big thankyou to Tess and Lorraine at breakfast. They even remembered me from our first visit. Large city centre hotels take note. The hotel has an excellent location for the city centre unfortunately the carpark is very small and spaces are unlikely to be available if you arrive after 4pm. Car parking is available at the bus station opposite - £4 overnight and £6 all day. We would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights on business and was allocated a refurbished room which looked like it was unused previously.
Very quiet 6th floor room, really comfortable bed and a great breakfast served by Lorraine who was very helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately there was a bus load of visitors, many of whom were rather bad mannered especially at breakfast.

These are lovely gardens that have been painstakingly restored. Not an easy garden to walk around, plenty of hills but the effort paid off with the wonderful bluebell woods. Later in the year one can see where more colour will appear in the garden. A bit more in spring would help, especially in the more formal part of the gardens. Whilst the signage is generally OK, it is a little confusing in places.

A dog friendly garden. If one can take a dog into an iconic garden such as this - designed by Edwin Lutyens & Gertude Jekyll - it shows up the poor dog attitude of so many National Trust properties. We will visit again.

Went for a wedding reception and the venue was outstanding. From what we saw both walking around and from photos a beautiful place

Wonderful late spring day out visiting this historic garden which did not disappoint even though it rained the whole day. Beautifully restored and cared for and a must for all garden enthusiasts. Surprisingly large, a slow amble round the whole site takes at least two hours although the important formal Edwardian garden can be visited in an hour. A real treasure in every sense. I recommend the stables café for the quality of the food. Don't be put off by the prices, at the time I visited a BLT was £6 but what arrived was all but a main meal with its accompanying salad, crisps and giant cous cous and massive home made brown bread slices. very tasty day out all round. Visit late spring for bluebells and later for summer bedding. Glorious gardens.
