We chose this hotel due to the close proximity to the guild hall. When we arrived the staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was very basic. My only issue from our short stay was (First world Problem): the electrical sockets were placed in such a way that we could not plug in any of our phones etc to charge up unless we unplugged the one placed for the kettle. This also meant that we couldn't even use the in room ironing equipment at the same time as my wife wanted to straighten her hair. Room was very quiet on the 7th floor, even with the windows open. I think next time we will choose another hotel for a longer stay and due to the distance from the train station.

A beautiful visit but personally it's not especially worth the admission fee. There are so many delights I can see for free with my national trust card.

Booked afternoon tea as a birthday present, 3 off us went. Good selection of sandwiches, cakes were good, but not exceptional, same with scones. Unlimited teas and coffees were brilliant, and service was definitely 5* by our waitress Irene.

Very comfortable stay. Spent 2 nights here, the room was adequate with everything we needed, tea and coffee facilities, iron, hair dryer… The bed was very comfortable and the heating was cosy.
We were on the 3rd floor and it was nice and quiet.
The room decor and bathroom do need updating, but it was all very clean.
Good location.
Good value.
Good size car park.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming, particularly Irene in the bar area. Irene was very friendly, attentive and helpful. A credit to the team!

Attended the Brasserie & Bar and was greeted by a lovely member of staff called Irene. I didn't purchase breakfast and Irene went out of her way to get me breakfast and a latte. Her hospitality skills are amazing, along with her customer service skills.

Would happily visit again. Such a caring woman, who deserves 5 stars.

Thank you Irene.

Booked afternoon tea last Friday. Pleasantly met and showed to our table. We were looked after by Irene all afternoon who is a star. Can't do enough for you.
Food was very nice and plentiful. Had to take some home with us.
Highly recommended.

We booked a last-minute stay to take our poorly dog to the Animal Trust for emergency surgery and were very impressed with this hotel - it was in a perfect location for the places we needed to be. The whole place was well presented, and our room was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus for us - meaning we could bring our other dog with us!

Every member of staff we met was very friendly and genuinely wanted to help. A special shoutout to Irene, who went above and beyond to help us, made us feel very relaxed (on an otherwise very stressful trip) and was very attentive.

If we come across another hotel from this chain in the future, we’d definitely choose to stay again. Highly recommended!
