Situated in the heart of Preston city centre the hotel is handy for shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There is free wi-fi and tea/coffee facilities in the room. The staff were very helpful - we had to ask for an extension lead and it was brought to our room within minutes. The breakfast was buffet-style with an excellent choice whether you wanted a continental or a full English breakfast. The service was good. We would definitely stay again.

I know this Holiday Inn from days of old, and the work they are carrying out to refresh the rooms and public areas is definitely starting to pay off. Our first room didn't have a properly working toilet, but this was quickly sorted by the reception staff. The second room was cosy and clean, well up to normal Holiday Inn standards. The bar staff provided excellent service in the evening but the real surprise was the quality of breakfast. This was freshly prepared to order and utterly magnificent, using great ingredients to deliver a real morning feast. I didn't need to eat until the evening it was that good! Overall a hotel that is improving fast, backed by committed staff who want to make your stay enjoyable. The Holiday Inn may be part of a big chain and deliver that rather uniform experience, but it is what it is, and no worse for that.

Good location however the bed was too soft causing back ache
The car park is very small lucky that we found a space on the first day and didn't need the car till we left. The location was fine as it is only a short walk to the centre. If you are a light sleeper you will hear constant road noise and in our case more than one blue light siren.in the bar after hours we had a quick night cap and had to face a few drinks that every other word had the "f" not what you need to hear after an enjoyable night.

We needed a convenient, clean and easy-to-reach place for one night. It was easy to book. Room was very comfortable and we slept well. The nearby traffic didn't cause a lot of noise, to our surprise!
We were able to walk to the hotel from the station and it was easy to go into town for shopping.

I stayed here on a cold wet winters night. There is parking on site but it is very limited -I'd recommend just parking in the multi storey next door at the bus station.

The staff were friendly, the hotel is clean and fresh and the decor modern. My room was small but perfectly serviceable. Room service was very good indeed. In the morning I discovered I had a wonderful view across the city out of my window too! Breakfast was standard HI fare, which is always to a good standard. Definitely recommended.

We stayed here as we were attending a cocktail event within the city. As an IHG member I always try and stay in IHG hotels, so picked the Holiday Inn over other hotels in the area.

Pros ...
centrally located to the town centre
Clean
Comfortable beds
Friendly and helpful staff
Tasty breakfast
Nice bar area

Cons ...
Parking VERY limited
The rooms and corridors are dated
The hotel is not in a nice area of Preston

Overall our stay was pleasant and we would stay at this hotel again.

check in was very good , nice size room ,shower was powerful but over the bath tub ,i think the hotel should look in wet room birthroom or low floor shower for disabled people like me, evening was not me ,but they pubs in very area ff,near the hotel ,but breakfast help yourself to everything expert coffee which was serverd to your table by staff. lift from ground floor taken out of use after 10.00pm until 7.00am so you have to walk upstairs to level one and the lift would then work ,but this hard to do if disabled , the bar is a little expense ,so i took a few cans from supermarket and drink in the room

Just been to the Bolton Georgian House hotel for afternoon tea. The food was very good and nicely presented. We were served by a lovely lady called Irene, she was very attentive and talkative and made sure we had everything we wanted. Lovely lady!
