I must admit to being an amateur critic of Fish n Chip meals. You see privately, I always buy my raw fish from Fleetwood dockside and you cannot get fresher than that unless you’re the fisherman. So I enjoy freshly caught pure white Cod with lightly battered coating and no fat or oil spoiling the effect. Potato’s as we all know can vary, but the perfect spud is fluffy inside and crispy outside and hot.
I’ve eaten this meal all over the UK and rate my favourites out of ten. 10/10 is perfection in my view. Some time ago I reviewed Curley’s in Horwich, a definite 10/10. This weekend I travelled to Bolton town centre to eat at Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant. I’d been there before, some ten years ago on the way to the Octagon theatre. So this time with my family I decided to repeat the experience.
The whole experience of this restaurant is wonderful, great staff welcome you, table and chairs very clean and comfortable even though it’s one of the biggest dining rooms I ever been in. The menu is vast, prices vary on size of fish, but all are cooked to perfection and very fresh with no sitting in heated cabinets waiting for the customer to order.
The meal was a definite 10/10 as was the dining experience. They even have a black Grand Piano. Staff came over more than once to check everything was okay, they actually made the outing great.
Expect to pay about £8 to £12 depending on your appetite, but believe me you’ll forget the price when you taste the food.
Trying not to poke my nose into other customer’s choices, the Steak puddings look good, also the Ham salads. They even open early for breakfasts in their Orangey room. Luckily for my weight and figure, I live twenty miles away.

Went to see Summer Holiday presented by the Octagon Theatre at the Interchange so the obvious choice for a meal was the Olympus.. It didn't disappoint as it hasn't before. There were 4 of us and 3 had the fish and chips. Wonderful. The 4th member had mousaka and she ate every bit. Washed down with a glass of wine it was a great start to a great evening.

My friend and i went a couple of weeks ago as part of a "deal". The Octagon theatre was having an innovative show, starting in the bus interchange, catching the bus to the town hall and then walk to the theatre to see summer holiday. An excellent performance. However we ate at Olympus first, bsaic fish chips and peas and a glass of wine. All very pleasant and a good start to the evening.

I had the fish and chips and I must admit it was very nice food along with friendly staff. You are treated great here.
The menu has a wide variety to pick from including healthy foods.

I have reviewed this restaurant before 3 yrs ago, but after a recent visit, I thought I would compliment the way it has carried on, excellent service, good simple food, with hardly any waiting time in a roomy, clean, modern well set out restaurant that is seldom empty what every time you pass, couples with the adjoining Chip Shop that shares the kitchen. They especially cater for parties and functions, being a favourite of theatre goers to the nearby Octagon. Prices have hardly changed from our last visit, most meals are complete with a pot of tea or coffee, bread & butter. We called at lunchtime and whilst quite busy, we were served in no time, pot of tea arrived first, followed shortly by 2 regular cod, chips and mushy peas, all for £17.90, excellent value, there are of course smaller potions offered as well as pensioner specials, very popular whilst we were there, of course they also cater for the larger appetite with extra large potions of different fish! Steak puddings are available! I didn't manage one of their own made sweets! A regular lunchtime calling place.

Nice place to eat. Quick service, shown to table quickly. It is big and airy. If you want want to sit down and have something quick to eat this is best place to go.
