Fixtures and fittings pretty jaded all round; rooms clean if not very spacious; beds comfortable enough.
Food (breakfast) very disappointing though - no buffet available as not many guests staying and 'potato rosti' turned out to be the boiled potatoes from the previous evening fried up! Quality of other items not great either.
Staff all very pleasant and helpful.

Happy weekend at this hotel recently. The room was fine with comfortable bed and a wonderful views of the moors - dark threatening clouds and stunning rays of sunshine. The booking and check in procedures were easy and welcoming - very nice helpful receptionist. Ditto with check out.
the bathroom was a bit dated but clean and works OK. The staff are very friendly, especially the breakfast waitresses who were wonderful - constantly smiling, very efficient and really helpful. Their patience with the coach groups was exemplary.
The bar area was a bit crowded much of the time as there were several parties/weddings and coach groups staying but it wasn't a real problem. There was some noise from the parties but it wasn't overwhelming. The gardens are really pretty and well kept, and the pool is a welcome bonus.
The hotel is conveniently located near the M61 and isn't noisy despite being on a main road. Lots of parking behind the hotel

The hotel was lovely, staff were friendly. The only problem we had was we were in a Family Room which was directly above one of the Function Rooms, on Saturday night there was a party on which was very very loud.

My wife and I stayed overnight for a wedding. Everything at the hotel was pretty standard.

It is in desperate need of redecoration in parts and it is a little shabby.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate but not anything special.

Considering the cost of the stay there is probably hotels of a similar standard, or even nicer, within a few miles that are much cheaper.

Stayed here for one night whilst attending a wedding. The wedding was fantastic as were the staff, very friendly and helpful.

The bar prices were so expensive, as a frequent traveller I know I will pay over the odds but £18 for a white wine and a double gin and tonic is taking it too far, we are in Bolton not london!!!

we stayed in sept this year and were very pleased with the hotel, the price was reasonable and the staff were exceptional the breakfast was 5 star in quality and presentation, this place should go on any short list you have for the area, though a room at the rear would be less noisy than the front due to the busy main road.

Have stayed here quite a lot recently and find it a reasonable hotel to stay on. Decent pool, gym and facilities, and not a bad breakfast either. Staff could be better and food is quite pricy but on average not a bad hotel! Will be back but only for business, wouldn't bring the family.

Stayed 1 night in Sept 2014 whilst away with work.

There is plenty of parking at the hotel, and the welcome at reception was very good. Check in was brisk, and plenty of information was imparted about the hotel.

The room was small, and was a little tired. Grouting in the bathroom was a little mouldy, but was what you would expect for a 3* hotel.

The gym was reasonable with a 3 running machines, a couple of rowers, and a bike, along with a variety of weight machines and a free weights area.

Dinner was a disappointment. I ordered the linguine with squash, spinach, walnuts and mozzarella. Sadly both nuts and mozzarella were missing.

Breakfast was reasonable with a decent hot and continental selection of foods.

I wouldn't rush back here, but it was a fair stay.
