It was quite nice. It was very old, but some parts like the resturaunt were done up to look modern.
It smelled a bit, when you walking into the lobby and near the stairs. It was really old so it smelled like old wood.
The room was nice, very clean. Nice veiw.
The bed were comfy and the staff were very nice, they weren't rude at all.
I was impressed by the food, but I was disappointed at the lack of Nutella packets Nutella at the breakfast buffet, but I liked the little jam jars. Good variety of muffins and croissants.
I think it's pretty but it could do with a bit of doing up and stuff.
It is a trek to get from your room the the resturaunt, ect. The pools nice, but it's cold. Even the jacuzzi was cold, it just had light bubbles..
Overall I would recommend it. I think it could be better if they tried, but it's nice:)

We had an amazing stay here. Definitely recommend to our friends. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and bar have very nice atmosphere. The room was amazing with one of the comfiest beds we’ve ever had in a hotel! We’ll be coming back to stay again soon.

The shared spaces in the hotel and spa needed a bit of upkeep but the room was huge and lovely and the restaurant (Christopher served us) was really nice and had really tasty food for all dietary needs.

We stayed for a night in one of the executive suites with an evening meal. The room was lovely and spacious. The evening meal was excellent. Providing hearty and tasty dishes. Shailesh was warm, friendly and attentive with nothing too much to ask for. Would stay again and eat in the restaurant.

We had a lovely spa visit with my daughters to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had a lovely time made more special by two workers Shailesh and Christopher in the food and hospitality section. Shailesh Did everything he could to arrange our cream tea, Christopher was really helpful and friendly during evening meal. He was attentive and assisted in any thing we asked for. It would be lovely if more people were like these two.
Thank you to you both.

We had a lovely one night stay at the hotel on a Sunday night. After having had a rough journey in bad weather, we quickly got checked in, and then we were lucky to be well-looked after by a lovely lady called Anne in the spa bar area, who gave us a warm welcome, arranged us something to eat/drink and nothing was too much trouble, she made us feel at home.
The pool facility is great, we had a nice spacious and quiet room, and the dinner and breakfast during our stay was also good. The staff are all friendly and seem to try hard to do a good job and provide a good service. The hotel is very well-cleaned, and generally it all looks well.
We found our stay to be very good value, and we hope to return again!

Booked via booking.com. Over night stay with breakfast and use of pool. Checked in to this hotel with ease. Delighted to pay £50 less than what Booking.com quoted.

Hotel is old and tired in some places. This is to be expected with age and loss of bookings through 2020/2021. You can’t maintain a hotel if people can’t stay.

Beautiful grounds, ample parking and easy access from the motorway. It feels very grand.

The room we had was massive. Executive suite, two good sized beds. Wasn’t sure if King or double. Beds comfy, even the sofa bed was a good size.

My boys enjoyed running up and down in the room. Great size shower and bath. Clean, tidy and free tea, coffee and biscuits. TV massive in the room. Plenty of plug sockets and USB ports. Room was tired in some places, probably a leak at some point. Nothing that a lick of paint wouldn’t cover.

We didn’t have dinner, probably should have but we was advised that the menu is the same in restaurant as well as bar area.
Menu was reasonable a good 8/10. Probably could have done with a choice for tween who didn’t want kids menu but adult menu didn’t suffice. He had chicken supreme. Younger kids choice wasn’t too bad.

Staff polite, friendly and informative. Even let me order food at 8:30pm for my husband to be brought out at 9pm. My husband arrived at 9pm after closing our business and a 40 min drive.

The pool was used twice, warm, clean and the family change was airy and disability friendly.

Great choice for breakfast, buffet style.
Absolutely cannot fault our stay at all, thank you.

We stayed at the Dunkenhalgh to celebrate my wife's birthday.
The approach to the hotel is pleasing, the appearance of the stone building in the grounds is impressive. When you get inside and into the guest wings it is less impressive and at times confusing. The journey from reception to the executive wing is unclear and confusing because you pass through rooms that look like there shouldn't be a route through them. An outdoor covered corridor is unattractive and uninviting. Once we got to our adapted room though it was lovely. It has all the facilities for a disabled guest and was spacious and comfortable. There is a small lift to the first floor rooms.
Meals were very nice and staff were very helpful.
We booked through a Red Letter Days voucher, which added a little complication but nothing insurmountable.
