We stayed here last weekend and our room was directly above the smoking area so the smell from the cigarettes was at times overpowering, also there was a wedding party going on and nobody bothered to intercept when two guests stood on the patio swearing and shouting at each other for over 30 minutes. The option was to close the windows in a very hot room with no air conditioning. Overall not a very comfortable stay.

This was not a good experience. Booked 2 rooms on a 2 night with dinner package. Arrived on first night to find only 1 room was showing and only one single room was available. This was after numerous emails and telephone calls to confirm booking and arrangements. I showed the receptionist (Ashley) my booking for 2 double rooms close together. One should be accessible room for my elderly parents. Manager called and was initially offered a rain damaged room that manager deemed fit. I stood my ground for an accessible room as booked. I was then offered one with manager authorisation. Rooms still on different floors and opposite parts of the hotel. Not what we had booked but nothing else was available. I accepted this grudgingly as it was now 10.00pm and we were all tired after a 3 hour drive. Both rooms were poorly maintained (missing selves, stained carpets, poor grouting) and had request towels as well!

Breakfast was a steady affair. All the usual suspects - cereals, fruit, crossiants, juices, help yourself coffee and a selection of hot fayre but no hash browns or potato dish?

Did not use pool or spa.

Dinner went from OK to bad to worse. Ordered food at bar to be told that they had run out of hummus at 8.00pm on a Wednesday night? Ordered starters and mains. They had also run out of Becks Blue and there was no other alternative. The coke draught machine as not working either. The starters came after a short wait. Nice soup and garlic bread. We waited for our mains and waited some more and dishes were not cleared either for 30 minutes. In the end I went to bar and told then our mains had not come. Barmen asked which had not come? I said all of them and he rang kitchen and told me that they would be 'fast-tracked'. I got the feeling they had forgotten about us. They arrived 10 minutes latter. Burger and chip was good. My pasta was warm on the outside and stone cold in the middle. I think it had been microwaved badly. The server noticed that I'd left my pasta and asked if everything was alright. I explained the pasta was cold. He offered to warm it and a free drink. I declined and ordered dessert - sticky pudding which was the best thing we had that night.

Check-out was quick but no real apologies offered for the booking/room issues we had encountered.

Would not recommend unless you are desperate or check booking in advance and get in writing.

Recent reviewers had lambasted this hotel for uncleanliness but we had a spotless twin room (891) with very comfortable mattresses, clean bathroom with shower over bath and washand basin. Usual beverage facilities and plenty of hot water.
This room had a Velux window that opened easily to a view over the countryside at the rear of the hotel.
The weather was atrocious but we had the window open without any water ingress

We decided to spend a night in Preston as we had not visited this city before and thought we would also use it as a stop off place to visit Blackpool and Southport. From that point of view it met our needs. The hotel is one of the first places you will see if you arrive on the A6 from the south if you are driving. As you approach the large roundabout take the turn off for the bus station but keep to the left for the hotel car park or you will go up the ramp into the car park. There is complimentary parking costing £4 at this car park but you must pay at reception in the hotel first to get the 24hr discount. The reception is on the first floor and not the ground floor. If you arrive by bus then the bus station is next door if you arrive by train it's about a 20-30 min walk across the city centre. Our room was on the 7th floor but I could still hear the traffic outside as I am a light sleeper. Our bed seemed on the hard side and so that also did not aid a great nights sleep. Use this hotel for a stopover but if you visit Preston the walk is not pleasant to the eye passing run down areas of the city and you have to cross the road to keep on a pathway. Good value.

Stayed here for one night in June and it was a pleasant, good value stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and there was a free car park. The location was also pretty good in central Preston,
We are visiting Preston in November and will probably stay here again.

A quick and friendly check in. The room was clean and tidy, with additional touches e.g. Pillow choice, complimentary shampoo and soaps, plus free basic wifi.

We booked a special offer night which included breakfast. The breakfast was lovely, a choice of croissants, juices cereals, and of course the full English, of which the sausage and bacon were fantastic.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We managed to park on site for free, this was a bonus, we were not expecting.

Location could not have been better, only five minutes walk to the Guild Hall and the Town Center. Would definitely go back

Excellent stay here even though we only stayed the one night. The young lady on reception was very professional and helpful on our arrival. A quick and friendly check in. The room was very clean and tidy, With the usual complimentary shampoo and soaps, plus free basic wifi.

We hadn't booked breakfast, but we were able to upgrade on arrival. The breakfast was amazing a huge choice of Danish pastries, croissants, juices, yogurts fruits, cereals, and of course the full English, self service and plenty of it. It was constantly being refilled with freshly cooked items.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We managed to park on site for free, this was a bonus, we were not expecting.

Location could not have been better for us as we were seeing Paul Weller that evening at the Guildhall so only five minutes walk to the venue
We Would definitely go back.
For saying this is on a busy main road there is no traffic noise at all. We loved the wooden shutters in place of curtains, as really blocked all light out for a great nights sleep.
The only thing I would say in a negative way is there was only enough tea and coffee for one drink each, as we are big tea drinkers we would have liked a few more, but I'm sure if we had asked we could have been supplied with some more.
All in all excellent service.
Thank you

Only stayed for a night but was nicely impressed by the look of our room, unfortunately (? :) ) we got a twin room instead of double but it was never guaranteed that we would get a double. With all the little touches it is a great place to stay and its also in a walking distance to the shopping areas and other nice places you might want to visit. :)

we travelled over 300 miles as a relative has become seriously ill and Preston was half way. We have stayed here before and enjoyed the experience.
All we wanted was a friendly smile and something to eat. The room is lovely as before.
It took ages for reception to make contact she was on the phone but she had someone else in the office with her I heard them in conversation.
We went to the bar for a meal the menu was not appealing last time we had a tapas selection.
I chose garlic mushrooms and baby tomatoes on ciabatta,. It was swimming in oil and cold and the bread was not toasted I must have had all of 2 button mushrooms thinly sliced.
My husband had haddock and salmon fish cakes mostly tasting of haddock they looked vey pre packaged. He also ordered a side of chips these were rock hard and uncooked. He returned them and asked for a refund which he received. All in all a disaster and tomorrow we have another 300 plus miles to travel. Very sad as we so enjoyed our experience last time with friendly staff in the bar and lovely food.
