I've only given 3 stars as the hotel itself could do with a refresh and it was cold in some of the communal areas. We were able to overlook this though as it was clean and the service we received was exceptional and for that they'd get 5 stars. Every team member we encountered was keen to ensure we were well taken care of. Sheila and Bruna in reception and Olga, Lydia and Nadine in the breakfast room were all very friendly and helpful. Irene though was the stand out staff member and during the two dinners we had there she did all she could to make sure we enjoyed our meal and were happy and comfortable. She's a real credit to the hotel. Every hotel could do with having an Irene as a staff member.

Our team had our Christmas Party 1920's theme at Mercure Georgian House and it was a brilliant night. The food was lovely & hot, we had pre-ordered drinks that were all there ready. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the music was great, we danced all night. Highly recommend for a team party and we will be back next year.

We stayed here as a large group for one night as were in Preston to watch our football team in a match at Deepdale.

The hotel is located very close to the city centre, just a five minute walk to the main bars and pubs.

The room was on the fifth floor with a good city view. The room was clean and furnished to a decent standard.

The staff we met across the hotel were really friendly. The Scouse guy on reception was a good laugh! We drank in the hotel bar before our night out. It was chilled out and they were more than happy for us to move furniture around so we could watch the live football on the TV in our large group!

The hotel was also quite well located for the football on the Sunday - I'd say just over a 20 minute walk from the hotel to Deepdale.

Good value for money at £58 for a twin room. Would stay again if we ever needed to head back to Preston!

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago with a friend for a Uni reunion.

We rang ahead letting them know we wanted to check in early as we were arriving at 12pm, they advised they would try their best as the hotel wasn't too busy. We arrived and we were checked in without any bother or hassle, the scouse gentleman on reception was lovely and helpful and made an effort to chat and joke.

The room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfy.

Check out was easy and the girls on reception again made an effort to have conversation that didn't seem forced and put on.

Overall we had a very nice stay made even better by the friendly staff. Value for money.

The room was big and airy, with a really comfortable bed. The staff on reception (both times was a man with a Liverpool accent) was really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again, we both slept like logs and we were able to park outside.

Proficient staff. Very comfy bed. Clean room. Good food. What more could you ask for?

The service I received, especially from the young lady from Glasgow (in the restaurant last night and this morning) was commendable. I left happy, which made my onward jouney to Scotland on the coach even more enjoyable. Thank you. :-)

First impression of room...... Great! Three quarter size twin beds, choice of pillows, thick mattress on a sprung base. Just what tired visitors need. Meals excellent and staff very helpful. We both slept very well, rested and ready for the days travels. Disappointed we did not come back to this one after our break.

We use holiday inn loads of times and in lots of places but this was one of the best. The staff were very, very friendly and helpful and more efficient than most of the chain hotels we use. The room was lovely and exceptionally clean. The wooden screens on the Windows are a revelation. Breakfast was one of the nicest I've had and I love the fact that tea and coffee is still brought to the table instead of the dreadful machines that we seem to have to suffer these days!

Stayed here on two separate at beginning and end of coach trip to Scotland. Nice clean and comfortable room, friendly staff and good food. Why not five stars from me? Haphazard service at dinner - but the hotel was heaving , so perhaps understandable.
