An excellent hotel in a perfect location for the town. I should be delighted to return. A particular mention should be given to the excellent Indian food in the Curry Room. Very good public rooms. We enjoyed our lovely balcony overlooking the sea

We stayed for a week in mid June. Excellent old style service, not a thing out of place, staff only to pleased to assist. Very comfortable, good rooms, all facilities modern and very well kept. Big spacious lounge with a first class afternoon tea specialty. Restaurant tables well spaced out, never too crowded.Dinner Menu choice was from a fair variety of dishes to suit most tastes, supplemented by three or four specials each evening. Breakfasts typical of a first class hotel, catering for all international taste, not short of anything. Outside terrace to dine when weather permits.

The central location in St Peter Port made it easy to walk in and around the centre. The town is spotless and buildings very well maintained. We had a small hire car for the week, driving not a problem, car war parked by staff and delivered back to the main entrance on call.

The Hotel is highly recommended for anyone wanting a relaxing stay with faultless service and excellent international facilities .

Our stay at the ogh was brilliant. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the holiday to celebrate her 40th and our daughter (eva) absolutely loved her stay and all the goodies that came her way. The staff were very attentive and our daughter took a real shine to Ken who treated her very well indeed.

In terms of plus points and minus point .... All plus points and nothing negative to report : - )

OGH; splendid in every way except watch out for bedrooms 131-135: they don't have any view and almost no natural daylight which, for a hotel charging these rates is a bit much. The rooms in the pictures are obviously not these few!

I spent two nights with my sisters in this beautiful hotel for a relaxing getaway! The afternoon tea we had in the garden area was one of the highlights of our trip. Delicious scones and nothing beats drinking champagne in the sunshine!
The gym area is very well equipped for a hotel gym, with a steam room and sauna available as well.
The new Crown Club is sophisticated and modern and the perfect location to relax with a cocktail.
The rooms are beautifully decorated with a lovely personal feel. I loved the l'occitane products!

Having experienced the fantastic Oyster Box, we decided to book the OGH as it is in the Red Carnation group too. There are some excellent features to the OGH but enough small criticisms to leave us slightly disappointed.
Positives
The location a couple of minutes in a quite area above the hill from town is excellent.
The service staff in all areas were very good (arguably slightly too attentive at times)
The Curry Room dining experience is simply first class...not to be missed!
Negatives
Our room (316) was fairly small and cramped for a 5 star establishment. The view was of an adjacent street and a tiny corner of the garden.
The bathroom was certainly not 5 star. A simple bath with an over bath shower that required a plastic non-slip mat really didnt look great and was not what we had expected.
I don't appreciate paying service charge on restaurant meals taken in the hotel when a staying guest.
The drinks in the new Crown club are expensive (£12 for a Mojito compared to £7.50 in the lounge area).
We had a lovely stay but overall didn't think this was a true 5 star experience although the room price most certainly was!

We have just spent 4 nights in the lap of luxury. Yes, we were born before 1960 and loved the period ambience. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble from the Front Desk up to and including Below Stairs. The room was spacious and well maintained and the provision on our arrival of Champagne to help us celebrate was a bonus. We made full use of the outdoor swimming pool but the gym area was avoided due to our age!! We can thoroughly recommend the hotel if you wish to pamper yourselves.

Fantastic hotel. Great service provided by friendly, welcoming staff in a classy but laid-back environment. We were really disappointed to leave but work & mundanity called, I'm afraid. We will definitely return, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Full marks to the whole team. They couldn't have done better. We loved the place!

This is a great hotel. Even before we arrived staff had asked us our preferences and ensured small details like having decaf tea/ hair items in my room were sorted. When we arrived the staff were fantastic - no detail was overlooked. This is a perfect hotel to treat a loved one in as the staff are brilliant and location is fab. Definitely worth upgrading to a sea view room though as room is larger than the standard one and has a better bathroom.Lovely pool area and olive grove for dining outside. Food was fantastic. Took my mum this time - Looking forward to returning with the boyfriend soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at the OGH Hotel. 5 star hotel at 4 star price! Room was, although not large, perfectly adequate and very comfortable, as was the bathroom. Public rooms were spacious and well appointed. The pool was heated to 29 degrees even in July! and was as comfortable as the loungers. Nice touches were sunscreen available at the poolside and weather forecast left in the room during turndown service. But one of the outstanding assets of this hotel was its staff. All were courteous and helpful, and superb at making you feel welcome, and "at home". The food is also worthy of praise, breakfast - excellent, dinner - superb and if you get the chance try their picnic (which for us was part of a "discovery" package that included 2 days of car hire and a dinner in the Brasserie), generous almost to an excess. The food was great and china plates, salt and pepper pot, and eight pieces of cutlery each made it very special (if heavy!).
