This year marks the fifth annual Brighton Digital Festival which hosts an array of events across Brighton and Hove throughout the whole month. The digital culture themed festival includes internationally acclaimed exhibitions, performances, community meet-ups, education initiatives, workshops and outdoor events that run alongside some of the UK’s most iconic digital conferences. A brand new, family friendly festival is taking place at Preston Park this weekend. “Together the People” will mix music from the likes of The Levellers and Billy Bragg with child friendly shows including Horrible Histories Live. You can buy tickets for one day or both Saturday and Sunday, with accompanied under 11s admitted free. www.togetherthepeople.co.uk
Crafty types should head to the Corn Exchange on Saturday for the Brighton Mini Maker Faire. This will give people of all ages the chance to have a go at making everything from a robot to a spectroscope. Other events include interactive puppet theatre and the chance to see how a sheep fleece is turned into a knitting wool. Portslade MOT and Service Centre for vehicle repairs, servicing and MOT's. This independent garage, serving Brighton and Hove and East & West Sussex for 20 years, is a member of the Good Garage Scheme and has built up an excellent reputation for looking after it's customers.
I have just had an MOT carried out by Portslade MOT and service centre and despite the place being very busy with people wanting their vehicles back for Easter, the staff were all excellent and despite the obvious pressure, dealt with each customer in an organised and professional manner.
They even managed to find time to correct a minor item in order that I had a safe vehicle for the holidays in spite of the fact that it was 3pm on the last day before Good Friday with several other customers still waiting.
Good old fashioned service and cheerfulness and the prices seem fair too.
