We know it's a bit early to be thinking about Christmas (yikes!) but when you start to think about buying presents, give a thought to the statistic that 80% of very £ you spend with a local business stays in the local economy and only 20% if you buy from a national or international chain. If everyone made just a small change in their spending habits it would make a big difference to the local area.
Here's hoping for an Indian summer!

Ayot Saint Peter Church - Harvest flowers open day
The beautiful church of Saint Peter near Welwyn Village will be open for the annual Heritage Open Day so you can admire the wonderful stained glass and the other unusual Arts and Crafts features that make this such an unusual, important and atmospheric building.
The church will be open from 10am to 6pm. Entry is free, but of course we always welcome donations!

Located on the University of Hertfordshire’s de Havilland Campus in Hatfield, just opposite The Galleria, Hertfordshire Sports Village is open to the general public and offers a stunning range of sports and leisure facilities for all of the family, including a newly extended and refurbished 110 station air-conditioned gym, 25 metre swimming pool, 12 metre climbing wall, squash courts, indoor cricket hall (4 lanes), outdoor tennis courts, grass and 3G pitches. 3 large sports halls are available to hire for 5 a-side football, badminton, basketball, netball, volleyball and table tennis. You will not find a finer sports facility in Welwyn Hatfield.
We held our sons 6th birthday party with the bouncy assault course at the Sports Village. We were super impressed with the host staff who really joined in and had fun with the kids making it so much more fun (others we have been to just sit and watch and dont get involved at all). We would highly recommend this for a party! The kids were all very red faced and hot but beaming with smiles!
