Hi
If you don’t know Brighton as well as you’d like, you can take a walking tour of the city to find out more about its history. You don’t need to book and you can just pay what you want. There are a variety of walks depending on your interest – this weekend there’s a Brighton After Dark tour where you will learn about crime and punishment in Victorian Brighton, as well as murder, ghosts and more (Friday 8pm, not suitable for children). There are other walks on Saturday and Sunday too. Meet at the clock tower. For details see http://www.meetup.com/guided-walks-in-BrightonandSussex/.
Fancy shopping for something a bit different? The eleventh annual Brighton Jukebox and retro fair is being held at Brighton Racecourse on Saturday and Sunday. There are more than 100 stalls spread over four halls, and you’ll be able to buy everything from jukeboxes to petticoats, homeware and giftware in this 1940s to 1960s event. There’s also live music, jive dancing and a selection of 1950s and 60s vintage cars and bikes on sale. It’s £8 to get in and you can find out more on http://www.jukeboxfair.co.uk/.
There are free event for kids who love science over the weekend. Curiosity Hub is hosting biology workshops for kids aged 11+ at the Hanover Centre on both Saturday and Sunday. As part of International DNA Day, the workshops will focus on what DNA is and what scientists use it for. Students will get to extract DNA from fruit. For more details on times and to register, visit http://thecuriosityhub.com.
