Upgrading to Smith-hood
I really like it when people say they value the work of a copywriter. So many people think that, just because they wrote essays at school, they can write their own marketing copy. Whilst it's certainly true that you can place words on a page and people understand their meaning, when it comes to selling something, it's a completely different skill. You've got to craft the words so every one of them is exactly the right one to use; if you say too much, you risk boring people; if you say too little, they won't get enough information. In essence, you've got to make people want to read what you're saying, otherwise how are they going to know how fantastic your products and services are!
Who needs reviews?
A little while ago I was looking for a nice restaurant for Mothers' Day, so I asked some friends for a few recommendations. Back came a shortlist of their favourite places to eat...
Sentimental Reasons
I can think of worse jobs than being a Jeweller. Sourcing diamonds, forming metal and even polishing a piece can prove therapeutic but our line of work requires a sympathetic ear from time to time and a real understanding of what our customer wants and needs.
Rule Britannia!
I'm Karen Ward, your local Travel Counsellor and I was very lucky to have stayed on board P&O's brand new ship, Britannia last week, as part of their launch celebrations!
