Recently stayed for a family wedding, although the room was sufficient, it was looking a little dated. Old style TV and definitely in need of redecorating/updating.
Quite disappointed, as the hotel is not that old.
The staff were very friendly and the service was very good.

I was booked in to the hotel by the company I work for, and I have to say I absolutely LOVED the whole time there (it was marred by the fact I had to go to work too, but never mind!)
The staff were so friendly and helpful and really really looked after myself and my colleagues. The fact that the Fijian Rugby League Team were booked in at the same time as us was just an added bonus!!
The food was really good, my room was lovely and clean, my bed was so comfortable. And the hotel itself was really stunning.
I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff I met were all so lovely, I look forward to going back there again.
The hotel is ideally placed, right near Horwich Parkway train station, and also really close to a good shopping centre.
I loved it! In fact every hotel I have stayed in since has not lived up to my Bolton experience!

The rooms are fine. Clean, spacious and with a comfortable bed. The telly is of the very old square tube variety and the picture is very snowy so it's probably about time they invested in new screens and a decent distribution system. However all of this pales into insignificance when compared with their catering, managed by Heathcote and Co. Shambolic is too gentle a word.

Heathcote has the contract to cater for the entire Reebok Stadium complex and they are clearly out of their depth. We were there to attend a company christmas party in the Lion Of Vienna suite. With several hundred guests they decided to employ a system of allowing two tables at a time to queue for their food rather than serving everyone at their table, which would have been quicker but would have required more staff. By the time it got down to the last three tables (approx 30 people), the food had run out. All that was left was a sad looking curry slop, a few turkey scraps and some anemic looking mashed potato. That left 30 people with no option but to leave the party and go elsewhere in search of dinner at 9:30pm. I returned to my hotel room, ordered room service and called it a night.

On returning to my room I discovered that the kettle was broken - a call to reception was answered with a prompt replacement in about 10 minutes. When my room service meal arrived it was OK but a bit on the tepid side with a listed ingredient missing and no condiments. I considered asking for some to be brought up but realised that if I waited that long the food would be inedible so I let it go.

Breakfast the following morning was acceptable.

The proprietor of Heathcote and Co, Paul Heathcote was awarded an MBE for services to the catering industry. I'd suggest he cease resting on his laurels and pay some serious attention to the sharp end of his business operations because as long as his company is running catering here, I won't be returning!

We stayed at the Whites Hotel on the outskirts of Bolton for one night for business use. The car park is free with hundred if not thousands of parking spaces being based at the Bolton Wanderers football ground.
Check in was quick and easy. Staff were polite enough.
Our room was a standard room with a view of the front car park and main road. My initial concern was that the road was very noisy. However we discovered the vents in the windows were open and once these were closed it was much quieter.
Room was very clean and comfortable if a bit tired looking. The mirror and picture frames looked as though they were wrapped in duck tape!
Hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities were provided with biscuits and alternative teas.
Upon check in we gave our card as a deposit but this had not been activated (some hours later) when we tried to order at the very busy bar. We did not eat at the restaurant but the bar area was very pleasant and although busy, was private enough.
The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night sleep, but the duvet cover did have a hole on the side (pulled away at the seams). The floors and walls are thin, but I only noticed the noises during daylight hours, my husband was woken by some loud noises in the night.
The bathrooms were clean but again, tired. The shower sprays on to the floor resulting in a large puddle, and you can clearly see this has taken it's toll on the tiled floor with visible damp damage.
We had requested a late checkout for myself upon check in. However I was disturbed by impatient banging on the door by a lady asking if I had been given a late checkout and who "hadn't been told" about it.
My husband also experienced a lack of communication/organisation by staff during his time there for a corporate event.
Breakfast was nice if a little on the cold side. But had plenty of choice.
Would stay here again if needed for business but not by choice for leisure. There are shops a 10 min walk away with coffee shops and restaurants, we ate in Frankie and Benny's and the staff and service was very good.

was working across the road recently at Parklands , so this was an obvious choice as within walking distance and plenty of eating options around the area. Have to say was really pleased with the hotel , the breakfasts were very nice and the food I ate there was also very good . The bar area was excellent too and friendly staff. I had a room over looking the pitch , and although there was no game on , it was a great sight. Even though I'm not a Bolton fan I will definitely look at coming back on a match day.

Stayed here for a few nights in 2013. The hotel is located on the outskirty of Botlon, in the Bolton Wanderers football stadium.
It is a really nice business hotel, with a special atmosphere (especially if you a football fan ;) Staff at the reception was helpful and friendly, but they do not accept Euro.
The rooms are clean and comfortable ironing board and kettle&tea are complementary! There is free wlan access in the rooms!

Hotel was clean, rooms sufficient for purpose and the location of hotel was close to where we needed to be for the evening. Rooms were cosy for the time of year as it was freezing outside and the bed was comfy and big enough for my 6ft 2' partner. Breakfast in the morning was average and you could help yourself to as much as you liked. Can't complain, we both had a good sleep that night!

Stopped at Bolton Whites for the family New Years Eve party. We was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews but our experience was great. Staff were pleasant and helpful, room was nice and clean and the function room was fab. Plenty of entertainment for the children, and adults, the buffet was impressive , lots of varied, tasty well presented food to choose from. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back next year .

I stayed at this hotel with a group of 18 family and friends and was very impressed with the level of service. We were all located in rooms overlooking the pitch which was a nice surprise and the reception staff were very efficient. I made use of the fitness suite and pool facilities which were well maintained and not over-crowded.
We had arranged to have dinner in the main restaurant and the hotel had put together a three course menu for our party. The quality of the food and service was exceptional and the fillet steak was the best I have eaten for many years.
I used this hotel last year when it was owned by a large chain but I feel that the overall quality has improved since the football club have taken control.
Looking forward to my next visit.

We attended a new years eve dinner and chose to stay in one of the pitch side suites.

Check in was painless, very helpful staff behind reception who were very informative. The entrance and reception area were light airy and very clean.

Our room was not massive in size but had a nice comfy bed and was perfectly fine for a few nights. Our pitch view was fab and this added something extra. I just felt although the room was perfectly adequate for what we needed it felt as though the room needed a little updating - it seemed a little soulless and tired. Plus no flat screen tv - no that's bazaar in this day and age. But again that is simply my opinion - not detrimental in any way to the hotel or the stay we had .

The event we attended was good, fab band and attentive staff. The menu was set. The first two courses were amazing as you'd expect from Heathcotes but the third course was a disaster - dry and tasteless - the desert was meringue with fruit cavier - a little disappointing but was mass catering. Overall big thumbs up just a little underwhelming were the food was concerned
