Perfect hotel. The staff can not do enough for you.
The breakfasts were vast and delicious. We ate in the restaurant most nights and it was the best steak I have ever tasted.
Kris at reception was an angel. Highly recommend the hotel organised trip to Cobo Bay.

Fantastic hotel with brilliant staff who are all friendly and caring. We specially like the curry Room, but the normal Brasserie is fine too. The Crown Coctail Bar makes a nice start to the evening. Turn-down service is a good touch, and ensures that towels are changed twice a day if needed. Very good location to get into town for shops and othe restaurants.

We chose this hotel to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and stayed a week based on the 5 star rating and the online reviews. We were NOT disappointed. The room, the bathroom with wonderful shower(s), the view were all great, but the real stars of the hotel are the staff. From our check-in with welcoming champagne to the check-out, the staff were engaging, exceptionally friendly and helpful, going out of their way to service our particular wishes. Special shout outs to Alessandro and Stewart for their kindnesses and assistance. Breakfasts in the Brasserie were especially wonderful with such a delightful setting - very “civilized” (my highest compliment!). We received a complimentary chocolate mousse cake and card from the hotel (Andrew?) congratulating us on our anniversary. All in all, they made our celebration very special and memorable. Thank you all at OGH!

Hotel does not look much from the outside but once inside it is very luxurious, although on closer inspection there are areas that could do with a bit of tlc but that is probably just wear and tear. All the staff were so friendly nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very small but I assume you get what you pay for. It had everything you needed, bed and pillows very comfy. The room we were in was at the back of the hotel and we got woken very early two of the three days we were there by bottles being loaded into what we can only imagine was a refuse collection vehicle or a skip? So perhaps don't get a room that side if you can avoid it. The location is good but be prepared to walk up the hill when returning to the hotel! We only had breakfast at the hotel which was excellent, and found some other nice restaurants to eat out in the town.

The room (211) is definitely not an accessible room. Getting in to the room is difficult and getting out is a nightmare.
The bed is described as a Queen sized bed when in fact it is a standard double mattress. It is rather high of the floor and difficult to access as a result. The whole room vibrates for hours in the daytime and this makes it uncomfortable to rest. We love the hotel but the room is definitely not comfortable or accessible.

This hotel goes to exceptional effort to live up to it's 5 star rating . The hotel staff were amazing & so friendly & helpful - faultless in all aspects! Andrew & Abigail deserve a special mention but I have to say that all the staff we encountered were all first class.
Our assigned room was beautiful & very comfortable with spectacular sea views. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone & should we visit Guernsey again we will stay here again.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a week a few days ago. We cannot fault the service and excellent care that we were given whilst there. Every one of the staff were so helpful and kind and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfasts were delicious as also the evening dining. The hotel is situated on a hill in a very convenient position for the town and harbour. Thank you OGH for a wonderful stay, we will most certainly be back.

Can,t praise the Hotel enough, staff were all excellent ,couldn't do enough for us
My wife is in a wheelchair and the Hotel was well equipped to ease our way through it.
My only word of warning to anyone in a wheelchair going to Guernsey, the Island is not suitable for wheelchairs couldn't get to herm, or many attractions ,or Pubs,of course this not the Hotel fault, but the powers that be in Guernsey need to take a hard look at this situation in light of the aging population.

The Old Government House is an outstanding hotel with a competent manager. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful whether it is the front desk, housekeeping or F&B. The rooms are pleasant with lots of natural light. The garden is very nice with beautiful bushes and many private spaces. The food is good and the restaurant cozy. A really excellent establishment.

Let's have some positive feedback : great location , all the team members were delightful , food and beverage very good , dinner on the first night exceptional , bed was very comfortable and the best part of the room , the view wasn't bad . Room 138 is not 5 star - frankly nothing like ! I refer to the fist line of your Website which states " Throw open your windows and breathe deep " .... well you can't as they are wedged shut and the room was both stuffy & warm which is not solved with the air conditioning. We resorted to keeping them open about 5cm with blocks of wood supplied by the guy who came to do room service. The shower measured no more than 70cm x 70cm square. This is not 5 star and for a price of over £500 per night frankly not up to scratch. If there are occupants in the room above you are then kept awake until they go to bed by squeaky floorboards and that can get quite annoying. I will balance these observations by acknowledging the age of the hotel. Then don't big yourself up about being 5 start if frankly the building isn't albeit the staff are.
