The meaning of the word Aberbach stands for little river mouth. Aberbach is a relatively narrow cove that faces west towards the Irish Sea. Although Aberbach is a small pebble beach, when there is a low tide, golden sand can be seen on the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year long. The beach is located 3 miles away from Fishguard along the coast to St David’s. Legend has it that a local farmer captured a mermaid at Aberbach and convinced her to marry him.
