On Friday 24th July, from 2-4 pm Care UK’s Chocolate Works, on Bishopthorpe Road, will be hosting a day packed with live music, local business stalls and classic fair games all in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
Visitors can look forward to dancing the afternoon away with tunes from local singer Claire Louise, as well as the opportunity to get stuck into a raffle and tombola, with fantastic prizes up for grabs.
The money from the event will be donated to Alzheimer’s Society, helping the charity continue its vital work providing support for anyone affected by dementia.
Visitors will also be able to browse and shop at multiple local business stalls throughout the day, including a local bakery and a local physiotherapist.
Ella Bond, Deputy Manager at Chocolate Works, said: “We’re excited to welcome the local community to our summer fair. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a sunny afternoon together, whilst raising money for such an important cause.
“Our fairs are always enjoyed by the local community, so the team has been hard at work to organise another event to remember. We hope to see lots of locals come along to share in the fun.”
Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, Chocolate Works incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, including its own cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
