Somerset - A Great Place to Live, Work and do Business

I like many people relocated to the West Country for a better quality of life.

Encouraging businesses in London and the South East to relocate to Somerset couldn't be easier. Somerset has some of the most skilled workers in the country, some of the most high-tech engineering and energy firms, superb road and rail links, fast broadband and low property prices. That, combined with the quality of the schools, the excellent lifestyle and business support networks, makes Somerset a desirable or even obvious choice for Londoners bored of long commutes, poor prospects and a high cost of living.

In fact, 20,000 people move to Somerset every year, and it has the highest rate of business start-ups outside London.

Inward Investment agency Into Somerset promotes the county to business owners and companies who might be looking to move, offering hands-on support with relocation, planning, employment and integration into the £9bn business community.

Into Somerset has just produced this video, featuring celebrities from the county, including Deborah Meaden, from the BBC’s Dragon’s Den, Mistresses actress Sarah Parish, England cricketer Marcus Trescothick, conductor and broadcaster Charles Hazlewood, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, Gold Cup winner Kauto Star and his trainer Paul Nicholls, to promote Somerset as a place to come and live.
