Obviously with more people concsiously aware of energy price rises we are always looking to promote appliances which are more efficient. Fixed gas Wall Heaters are making a comeback as are Mobile Gas heaters which are excellent for pay as you go spot heating. It is always a good idea, especially before it turns really cold, to have sufficient heating in a particular area of the home without putting on the whole central heating system.

As the Solid Fuel market continues to fly with gas & electric bills soaring, we are also starting to display solid fuel stoves and inset fires. These are an efficient way to heat a room and are available in all styles - modern and traditional.

Despite energy price increases , electric fire and stove sales are continuing to grow. These are absolutely ideal for those who are lucky enough to have highly efficient central heating systems already and don't necessarily need heat but want a nice 'effect' . Dimplex are revolutionising the electric market by bringing out the 'Opti-Myst' range of inset fires and stoves. This brand new fire technology safely combines water with electric LED lighting to create a glowing, flickering flame-like smokey mist by atomising filtered water. The result is stunning and I'm sure it will be a huge success. There is a huge demand already but should be available from the end of October and will be on display in the showroom at The Fireplace Gallery - GasCo SW. For more info go to

Depite all of the above , glass fronted gas fires continue to sell the most. Hearth mounted or hole in the wall designs are available to see here working and more are on the way shortly. These are around the 80% efficiency mark and the range of fascias and and trims are breathtaking - solid granite, limestone, travertine, brushed steel, polished steel, anthracite & graphite finishes.
Surprisingly , inefficient gas 'effect' fires are still selling well and again the new range of hole in the wall styles with solid Walnut & Oak fascias are stunning.
