Feeling Out of Balance This Summer? Ayurveda Could Hold the Answer
Summer is often seen as the season of energy, sunshine and feeling your best. But what if you're doing all the "right" things and still don't feel quite yourself?
Perhaps you're eating fresh salads and healthy meals, yet you're left feeling bloated. Maybe everyone around you seems to be thriving in the heat while you're constantly feeling too hot, exhausted or overwhelmed.
If this sounds familiar, your body could simply be asking for a different approach.
As an Ayurvedic Health Coach, I help people understand that true wellbeing isn't about following the latest health trends – it's about discovering what works for your unique body.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest holistic health systems, originating in India over 5,000 years ago. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Ayurveda recognises that we are all unique.
At the heart of Ayurveda are the Doshas – three mind-body energy types known as Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each of us has our own individual balance of these energies, and when they become out of balance, we may begin to experience physical or emotional symptoms.
These can include:
Rather than simply treating the symptoms, Ayurveda looks at why these imbalances are happening and how we can gently restore harmony.
What Happens During an Ayurvedic Consultation?
Before we meet, you'll complete a detailed health questionnaire, giving me a full picture of your current health, lifestyle and wellbeing.
During your consultation, we'll take a deep dive into your daily habits, health history and current challenges to uncover what's really going on beneath the surface.
Together we'll:
Discover your unique Dosha (mind-body constitution)
Identify where imbalances may be occurring
Create a personalised wellbeing plan designed specifically for you
Focus on realistic, achievable changes you can implement over the following month
We'll then review your progress, celebrate what's working and make any adjustments needed to help you continue feeling your best.
My aim isn't to overwhelm you with complicated advice. It's to help you understand your body and give you practical tools that fit into your everyday life.
A Personalised Approach to Wellbeing
One of the things I love most about Ayurveda is that it reminds us we're all different.
The foods, routines and lifestyle choices that leave one person feeling energised may leave someone else feeling depleted.
By understanding your unique constitution, you can begin making choices that truly support your body, rather than constantly fighting against it.
