Worthing Thunder kept their strong chances of finishing in the top four alive with comfortable wins over Leeds Carnegie (100-89) on Saturday and away at Brixton Topcats (116-113) on Sunday.

Hank Rivers was the star man on Saturday night, as Thunder overcame a stubborn Leeds Carnegie side who still have slim hopes of landing the eighth and final playoff spot.

Rivers hit another impressive double-double of 26 points and 22 rebounds as Thunder bounced back from their loss last Saturday to Reading.

James Brame was again in interim charge, due to the absence of Gary Smith for personal reasons, and he saw Courtney Small and Marcus Tullis score Worthing’s first 10 points of the game, but they still trailed 14-10.
