Worthing Thunder clinched their first win in the National Trophy with a comfortable 86-69 win over Brixton Topcats at the Worthing Leisure Centre on Saturday night.
Both sides were playing purely for pride as they were eliminated from contention but Thunder produced a hard-working display that delighted the home crowd at the Leisure Centre. Hank Rivers led all scorers with a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds with Lithuanian Tomas Seidukis and Bud Johnston both getting 14 which left head coach Daniel Hildreth a happy man.
