The Compton Care Memory Walk is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of your loved ones whilst also raising essential funds to enable us to deliver extraordinary care to local people living with complex and incurable illness.
The 5 mile sponsored walk takes place on Sunday 24th June at Wolverhampton’s West Park and whether you choose to walk, run, hop, jump or skip the route, the event is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Prior to the day we’ll send you a memory card on which you can write the name(s) of the loved one(s) you are walking to remember, plus any special memories. You can then pin your card to your shirt or outfit to wear on the day – so you’ll be honouring those who mean the most with every step you take.
On the day we’ll be playing songs that remind you of your loved ones so be sure to send in your requests on the enclosed registration form for a chance for it to be added to our playlist.
Once you have completed the 5 mile route you’ll also have the opportunity to leave a message on our memory wall. Why not share a treasured memory or a funny story about your loved one? You can even snap a photo at our memory selfie station.
Walk to change lives
As well as honouring those who mean the most to us, joining the walk is also an opportunity to help raise essential funds towards the work we do caring for people living with complex and incurable conditions. By taking part in the event we ask you to please raise sponsorship – perhaps you could encourage your friends, family or work colleagues to sponsor you per mile, or ask them to donate money if you complete the route in a certain time?
We can provide you with sponsor forms and support to help set up online donation pages, as well as offer advice and encouragement to help you on your fundraising journey.
With every penny you raise, you’ll be helping to change the lives of real people living in your local communities. At Compton Care we believe that life with a complex or incurable condition doesn’t have to be limiting and we are passionate about helping people to live the best life possible. However, we simply cannot do this without the support of people like you who help us to raise the £7.9 million needed every year to deliver care, free of charge, to the people who need it most.
Walkers are welcome to join us at West Park using the Southgate entrance from 8.00am onwards, with the walk due to commence at 9.30am. Please report to the Compton admin tent on arrival. We will be accepting registrations on the day of the walk, however these will be charged at £10 per person.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with our friendly fundraising team on 0300 323 0250 or email email@example.com
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 24th June!
