Award-winning copywriter, communication trainer and networking event host Charlotte Davies (Charlotte the Copywriter) is hosting a 60 Second Pitch & Intros Workshop on Thursday 9 July, 9.30am – 11.30am.

Taking place at Codsall Community Hub in the South Staffordshire Council Offices, the small-group session is designed to help business owners and professionals explain what they do in a way people understand, remember and can easily refer.

Charlotte has been running her monthly Netwalk & Talk networking event at Weston Park since April 2023. Before setting up her business, she was Development Manager at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, where she organised business networking events and relationship-building activities.

She has since delivered networking skills talks, training and workshops for organisations including South Staffordshire Council, Access to Business and The Copywriter Club IRL London.

Charlotte is also a CELTA-qualified English teacher and previously taught English in Spain, Italy and online to students in China and Taiwan.

Charlotte Davies said: “Most people approach a pitch by thinking ‘What do I want to say?’ but really the question should be ‘What do people need to hear?’

"There’s a balance between saying enough to be memorable and saying so much that people feel overwhelmed or forget the important part.”

The workshop will focus on the foundations of an effective introduction, including:

• Who you help.
• The problems you solve.
• What makes your approach different.
• How to explain it in a way people remember and refer.

Practice and feedback are central to the session, giving attendees the opportunity to test and refine their introductions in a supportive environment.

Charlotte Davies added: “Nobody expects someone to go to France and speak fluent French without practising. I believe business communication works in a similar way. The workshop gives people time to think, practise and experiment with different approaches so they leave feeling clearer and more confident.”

The workshop is limited to a maximum of eight participants, and a limited number of places are still available.
