The Midlands Fringe returns to Wolverhampton for its second year this July.

As part of the festivities, local author and poet Matt Eccles is turning Japanese (he really thinks so) with his debut one-man show - ‘Who the F*cking Hell Haiku?’

He’ll bring the haiku to life in this interactive show (there’ll be QR code for the audience to scan and follow along) that’s split into topics all shot through the lens of this ancient art form.

Each sectional theme concludes with an original longer form poem.

In fact, his poem about gambling on horses does come with a Trigger warning (one for you Roy Rogers fans).

Matt said: “I’m encouraging the audience to bring along the name of a football league team. I’ll reveal their Haiku, for others gathered to guess, from my book that inspired the title of this show.”

This show is for you  If you are seeking some light Relief and laughter   Matt’s pay-as-you-feel show takes place at the Lych Gate Tavern on 26th July at 1pm

The Midlands Fringe is presented by The Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists and runs across venues in the City 17th - 26th July. Details of all 30 shows can be found here:

It is funded by Arts Council England.
