A community-led campaign to transform one of the Black Country's most historic football grounds has taken a major step forward, thanks to a unique partnership between Bilston Town FC and Crown Decorating Centre Wolverhampton.

Bilston Town FC, celebrated as the first fan-owned football club in the West Midlands, has secured a bespoke donation of 15 litres of paint mixed to the exact specifications of their iconic club colour. The paint will be used by an army of volunteer supporters who are giving up their weekends to regenerate the Queen Street ground ahead of the new season.

For several years, the club faced the challenge of standardising its famous, vibrant shade of orange, with various commercial off-the-shelf options failing to provide a true match. The issue was resolved when club director Jem Griffiths approached Crown Decorating Centre Wolverhampton. Utilising advanced digital colour-matching technology, technicians at the local branch successfully replicated the precise, historic shade.

The freshly mixed paint is being used by volunteers to repaint the turnstiles, stands, and internal stadium areas as part of a wider community-driven effort to refurbish the ground.

Bilston Town FC Chair, Jay Morgan, said: "This is about much more than a fresh coat of paint - it is about pride, community ownership, and reclaiming our identity. Our orange shade is famous across non-league football, and this support from Crown Decorating Centre Wolverhampton allows us to truly make Queen Street our own.

"As a fan-owned club, our supporters are central to everything we do. Seeing the community come together over recent weekends to transform the ground has been incredible. We are a true community club, and we want to encourage any local businesses or individuals with trade skills to get in touch and be part of what we are building here."

The club is actively inviting local residents, tradespeople, and businesses to support its pre-season preparations, and encourages anyone who can help to get in touch.
