Dark Foundry No.8’s Sister Dora candle collection, inspired by one of the Black Country’s most cherished historical figures, was selected to feature in one of the world’s most prestigious fashion and lifestyle magazines.
The July 2026 issue of British Vogue, featuring Zoë Kravitz on the cover, placed the brand alongside some of the biggest names in fashion, beauty and design. (British Vogue) Sister Dora dedicated her life to caring for the people of the Black Country with compassion, kindness and unwavering service.
More than a century later, her legacy continues to inspire generations. To see a fragrance collection carrying her name featured in a publication read across the globe is a proud moment—not only for Dark Foundry No.8, but for the region that shaped both the brand and the remarkable woman it honours.
From a kitchen table in the Black Country to the pages of British Vogue, the journey proves that world-class brands don’t have to come from London, Paris or New York. Sometimes they begin in Willenhall. Two Black Country icons. One iconic magazine. A story of heritage, craftsmanship and believing that local stories deserve a global audience
